Automobilia etc....

Tinting the windows on my camaro next week. Need some advice. For those that dont know ive got a 2017 black on black SS Camaro. What do y'all think would look better, the black Chevy emblems or the black Chevy emblems with the red outlines? I know I want to get red brake calipers, and I also want to purchase red and black leather seats. Going to black out the head lights and tail lights as well. I decided on the borla s type exhaust as well. I had it between to borla s type and atak

Red outline.

To each their own on the headlights and tail lights, but I've always felt that tinting those is foolinsh.

Good trick for when you are on a steep hill and the guy behind you pulls up about 1 foot off of your bumper...

Pull the emergency brake. It won't let you roll backwards when you take your right foot off of the brakes to move it to the gas pedal. Give it plenty of gas and let out the clutch. Then release the emergency brake and ypu will be rolling and ready to **** to 2nd. Works great in a pinch.

I did this more than im proud to admit

Found this and wanted to share...I stopped and looked at it for you. Pretty clean. Auto trans.

Yesterday I saw a Ford Tempo and a hardtop Pontiac Sunbird. Both had actually been kept up.

It was like being in a really lame time warp.

Can someone explain gear ratios to me? I shift based off my engines sound, but honestly I'm new to manuals and such and don't know for a fact I'm shifting at the proper RPM in my 2017 SS

It should say in the owners manual.

My ST has a shift indicator (up and down). But I usually go off sound.

Check your manual as Yankee said. I tend to shift very early, unless I'm driving hard.

You should have no problems short shifting with that V8.

In terms of what gear ratios are, they do the same thing as the sprockets on your mountain bike. You use your lower gear for getting up hills and you use your higher gears when you have a head of steam.

I am no engineer though so I am not the best at explaining.

I would guess 6,000 rpm or a bit more if you are racing, and maybe half that or less if not. I go by sound, hills, traffic, whether I feel lazy or sporty, and I try not to lug the car at a real low rpm. If it's struggling to make it, I go down a gear.

I'm still scared of mine i drive mine like a 80 year old man, I won't be racing anytime soon. I just want to make sure I'm not ruining my 45,000$ car :)

Did you guys see that dude wreck his viper pulling out of cars and coffee this past weekend...........youtube if you didnt.

I've decided on the borla s type exhaust for my 2017 SS camaro. I'm kinda confused by everything I need to purchase. I see catbacks, axle backs, a ton of options, what all do I need? I've already got the dual mode performance exhaust Chevy offers for an addition grand on mine that sounds pretty good, don't know what parts I need to buy from there for the borla

It sounds like the system you have in the car is pretty sophisticated. It has a valve that will bypass the muffler at full throttle for extra sound. The idea is for it to be reasonable for regular driving and loud for when you punch it.

It may be hustling backwards to replace that system.

You might want to check a camaro owners forum to get better opinions. Apparently it is called "NPP" by GM enthusiasts.

Perhaps camaro6.com can assist.
