Back in 2001 I won a "Best Seafood Dish" in the "Best of the Beach" contest on Ft. Myers Beach. There were only 13 other restaurants involved so not a big deal. But my dish was Salmon Cakes. After the award, people started coming in and asking for a Salmon cake as a sandwich.

Long story short. If you ever get bored with the way you make them, here are some suggestions.

Sriracha and mayo ailoi for a condiment.

Blackened with a garlic and caper ailoi as a condiment.

Same way as you do now but add some alfalfa or bean sprouts and some sliced Avocado. Obviously tomato and Onion also.

Roasted red pepper sauce for a condiment.

Cheat sheet. Mix some diced cucumbers and fresh dill with Ranch dressing for a condiment.

Just ideas to give you choices. Nothing more.

She tried salmon patties/cakes a couple of weeks ago and they weren't that great..

How do you spell Japanese correctly but not "they", "the" and "top" ? :)

Guess now I'll be accused of trying to impress internet Mod chicks. Hahaha. Hman and VIF will appreciate that one.

Enjoy your dinner.

Oh, it was sooooo good! I gave hubby about 2/3 of my prime rib. I had broccoli instead of the creamed spinach. Figured it was the healthiest choice. No way that creamed spinach is good for you. That stuff is so freakin' good!!

Is the Chophouse the place where you pick out your own steak and have the option to cook it yourself?

It's a chain restaurant.

We sat right beside the fireplace. But the best part was, hubby called ahead, so the 15-20 people there waiting were TICKED when we walked in and got seated immediately. :eek:lol:

There used to be a place in Nashville around 2nd Ave. that let you pick your steak and had a big grill in the middle of the restaurant where you could cook it yourself. It was fun.

these establishments work great till people figure out what a rip off it is where you can run a salad bar and butcher shop while convincing them its a good idea to prepare their own meal. works great in tourist areas though

Not a good idea for a Chain, but I would love to have one here. It's a great idea for a single owner place. IIRC it was $3 cheaper per steak to cook it yourself, got you away from the table and was just like grilling at home without the clean up. I enjoyed it, but not something I would do once a week.

I am not referring to the above Chop house..Its an upscale, fine dining at decent prices.(see link)Full service and great servers. The places where they have those big grills and cook your own food is a great idea for tourists who want to grill their own food but can't enjoy the experience like at their hotel or condo. I have seen them a lot across ski places Colorado , Utah , and Montana. Over priced meat and they fix your side items and run a salad bar still charging about 15-20 per head. Great idea for a start up business in tourist spots they work.
