AJ Johnson/Michael Williams Case (merged)

Where do these college kids get the money for bail when charged with serious crimes? Does the university, athletic department, boosters, etc post it? You know damn well most athletes nor their families have that kinda money on hand.

10% of bail is what's required. $4000

Sometimes I think it might be more than 10%. It depends on his flight risk I'm sure.

It's 10% or cash bond only.

Meaning he can use a bondsman. Cash only bond means the whole 40k.

The bondsman in this case keeps the money as his fee for guaranteeing the remainder of the 40k

Anyone that believes a word that clown says needs their head examined.

The indictment and arrest doesn't mean that he is guilty or not. To put it simply it means that there is enough evidence to move forward withe the case. He could still take it to trial and be found "not guilty" by a jury.

So how does this work, if he's found innocent, does he get his $40k back? How sh*** is that? Not saying he's guilty or innocent, just making an observation

He didn't pay $40,000. He or someone on his behalf only had to come up with 10% or $4000 to make bail.

I think 99% of people that are charged are guilty. At least that's what I say when selected for jury duty.

Can't wait to get reports from the jury selection process when the defense attorneys ask the obvious question ...

"Have you ever frequented a website called VolNation.com, or have you ever had a screen name there". :whistling:

Headline reads that AJ was released on $40,000 bond.

Not sure exactly what it means, but I figured it was somewhat relevant.

Just a wild guess here but it probably means his bond was set at $40,000, he posted the bond, was released and (this is the wild guess here) went home......

Typically he only pays 10% of the bond in cash (the amount the bondsman keeps regardless of the outcome). He also in cases this big someone usually has to post collateral in the amount of 40k so that if AJ runs the bondsman can seize a house or property and not be out the 40k

The thing I thought was stupid is Doc Jeff and Heather were trying to figure out why Draw Bowles might be a witness. They speculated he would say yeah my son was in a relationship with that girl so No way the girl would have sex with another man. Uhhh what people cheat on their significant other. If that's the reason that the father of Draw Bowles may testify then then the process is clearly flawed.

If I am not mistaken when one post bail it is only 10% of the amount requested....so $4000. If he skips town now the bondsman owes $40k to the court. not sure the process if found innocent, think he loses the $4k
He loses it, the 4000

It's hearsay about the incident, but he could testify to the victim's character or her state after the incident.

The most credible witness skirted quickly back to Florida which is interesting to say the least. Figured she might stick around for a day or two. She should be a witness for either side.
