AJ Johnson/Michael Williams Case (merged)

Drinking or Drunk is not an excuse. If a girl is allowed to use "I was drunk" to erase her behavior/willingness, then why shouldn't a male?

IF she is unconscious that is a completely different story but 1 or 2 drinks doesn't remove one from their responsibility to protect themselves or make sound decisions about themselves.

Guys, I suspect most of these, if not all are situations where the girl was willing until the word got out what happened. Let's face it, the girl in this case was cheating on her boyfriend. Others may involve interracial sex. It will be interesting to see what comes out once this goes to trial. I don't expect as much concern for the victims here as in the Vandy case. Jmo

The Tennessean is having a field day with all of the sexual assault allegations levied at Vols players lately. Marlin Lane, A.J./Michael Williams, Riyadh Jones, and even Yemi's case from 2 years ago are all signs that the entire athletic department under Hart's watch is out of control, according to their reporters.

Diversion from the Vanderbilt players who were found guilty of rape.

It does not seem like many of you feel sorry for the victim........

How the heck do you know she is a victim? It just may be the other way around. It is the closed minded view to already call her a victim, when AJ has lost his dream and hasn't even been tried.

I think many will feel sorry for the victim no matter who it is, we just need to determine who the victim is in this case and the courts will now settle this.

Who is the victim? could easily be AJ or MW, could be her, could be the team and fans.

Right now we are all victims of this act. We all hope for the best but there will be clear winners and losers in this case. Prepare for the worse, pray for the best.

Regardless of the outcome lives will be changed.

What steps does Butch jones and Antoine Davis do or say to team 119 going forward.. Obviously there is some messages that need to be told..

I don't know if it's been suggested but one thing that I think would help is if these boys would hear from the perspective of an actual sexual assault victim. I don't know if there are any women out there who would be willing speak to the team and give a testimony of their experience but I would think the message would be that much more powerful and they would be more sympathetic if they actually heard an account from a sexual assault victim and how it made them feel and how it affected their lives. To me this might actually get the message across much louder than simply the coaches or law enforcement telling these players "hey don't do this or you'll screw your lives up."

As we know from the Vandy trial. After the verdict all the jurys said it was a slam dunk after viewing the video. Makes you wonder why bother to even go to trail with that evidence. I guess the defense attorney got to make money.

If they made a video; they don't really deserve a Trial.

But Sab said he was innocent.

OK, he was indicted not tried before a jury of his peers and convicted. If you don't understand the legal system you don't have to attend law school to gain basis knowledge, you can simply Google the criminal judicial process.

Two things will happen here. If found guilty 95% of the board will say he deserves what he gets. The other 5 will claim bs. If found not guilty 95%, will confuse that with innocent, and demand the girl be tard and feathered. Oh and they will give Butch crap.

Sarah Palin says you are rude.

While I agree, you do understand to be indicted there had to be enough actual evidence of the crime for that to happen. I'm not saying he's guilty, but there would be no indictment without something. Or things have changed.

They just have to show probable cause for a crime not actually show evidence that the crime was committed

So there's no way AJ can be innocent?

He was indicted by the Grand Jury last week. This is simply the next step in the process.
Most people do not understand the accused is not allowed to put forward a defense unless the DA likes you and acts as your defense attorney to ensure you are not indicted.
