Ainge going off on Kiffin

The Kiffin bashing is stupid, as are criticisms about his character and NCAA issues, not to mention him running away "like a coward" in the middle of the night. None of that crap is either true or holds any weight. He's coached at a number of schools, tell me what NCAA problems he's caused? Basically, none. What are his character issues? He runs his mouth? Don't care. He ran away in the middle of the night? No, his dream job, which we knew all along, came calling and he went, simple.

Unfortunately, he won't be coach. The foolish blue bloods don't want someone with the type of verve kids like and Kiffin has. The foolish fans who cried over him leaving and wrongly blame him for all our problems will refuse to swallow their pride for the betterment of the program. We'll get a safe, mediocre to above average coach and do this all over again in 5 or so years.

Oh, I also would like to mention that he was killing it recruiting and set up Dooley for a few years with, pretty much, the only talent he had in his time in Knoxville.

It's not about swallowing pride. Kiffin is an average coach that's been fired over and over for under-performing. He's ~.600 at P5 schools.

These are facts that the mob doesn't want to address. Repeating that he's an "offensive genius" and a "great coach" doesn't bear out when you look objectively at the facts.

And yet somehow this fan base has deluded themselves into thinking he's going to to be the savior of Tennessee football?

Unbelievable.

Want to hear the national laughter go up, then bring in Lane Kiffin after making a "morals" stand against Greg Schiano. Let's build this program back the right way. My vote...Tee with money for a top staff, giving him time to grow into the job. Fulmer available as senior advisor. Remember...these two together gave us an NC.

I have thought the same thing. Kiffin would be Bama's #2 behind Dabo. Bama fans have told me this and I have no reason to doubt them.......
Yes, he would bolt in a heartbeat for his second dream job........... Laughing to whole time!

That being said, I'd take a chance on him now with a contract strongly in UT's favor.

He would be no where close to their second choice

This coming from a guy who’s promoting the UAB coach 😂

Kiffin is an excellent coach and recruiter that had us playing well in 2009 with a bare bones roster and now has his current school in the conference title game in his first year. He even, miraculously, made Jonathan Crompton into a decent QB. He's been fired from one job, USC, where he was dealt a quasi-death penalty from the Reggie Bush fallout.

He would be a great hire. We won't make it, but he would be.

Not to mention that he would probably have us on probation within 3 years

When did Kiffin witness and not report child rape or leak a false report of a player in drug rehab in order to get rid of him. I keep hearing about this "morals" stuff I regards to Kiffin and have no idea what the hell people are talking about, especially in comparison with Schiano.

I don't hate the idea of hiring Kiffin. We'll get beat up on the hire for protesting Schiano over Kiffin's ethics, even though Kiffin's ethics questions aren't in the same league as Schiano, even if you assume Schiano had absolutely zero to do with the Penn State Scandal.

That said, you know your program has an f'd up administration if between the Georgia blowout and today Kiffin is the best realistic option on the board.

I do not get the hate for Ainge. The guy is pretty open about his mistakes. I’ve never heard him try to be holier than thou. Some of the vitriol towards him on here is unreal.

Desperation is ugly.

He was at USCw when Reggie Bush was paid (denies knowing just like Schiano denies). He broke NCAA rules here (we took minor penalties). Character issues might be answered by his x wife or hostesses from TENN. He is still the same person he was 9 years ago. I'd cheer for him if he's the coach but I'd also have cheered for Schiano if he was the coach. Just don't act like one is a sinner and one is a saint.

Wait, what? His dirty laundry is addiction problems stemming from injuries.

Kiffin was just a plain old *******.

I think Ainge is overreacting, but let's not pretend they are morally equivalent.

Moral and Tennessee don't go together after Sunday.
