All that put together means that we are taking a pretty big risk on a guy that could be had fairly cheaply. We could put a huge buyout on him and an onerous clause that says if he walks he has to pay US. I think like Scott Frost, this is the last year of 'cheap' for these guys. If UCF runs the table again next year with Frost, he gonna make Saban money.

I don't like how Kiffin left UT either, but right now in the situation we are in, he actually has the most upside of any coach we can get it seems.

well, look at who we're targeting right now....they're all risky. and that's the world we get to live in given how last week played out.

we aren't in the position of just being able to "pick" the guy we want. and we haven't been in either of the last two.

so whether it be Kiffin, Martin, Morris etc...they all have some level of risk. even this overture to Gundy has risk...risk of being turned down again. it's a zero sum game there, you get him, fantastic...if you don't, what now? everyone then really knows where TN stands (except us mind you) in the grand scheme, and just saying we're a top 10 job doesn't hold water anymore.

I was done with Ainge at halftime of the 2005 LSU game.

He's already set the program back 10 years, now he wants set us back another 10 by trashing my coach (Kiffin).

He's still the last QB to play in the SECCG and only lose 2 conference games in a season.

And beat Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina in the same season. And beat Bama.

cant totally disagree but UT it Ainges meal ticket. This is the same thing As unhinged celebrities threatening to leave country after elections, yet never following through . Ainge isn’t going anywhere, kiffin or no kiffin .

Please hire kiffin then!!! I remember Ainge being a crrybaby when he was benched. Fulmers big mistake was to not start Ainges competition that year.

I didnt hear the quote directly. Maybe he just means he will pull against UT while that POS is coach. I will as well. I dont understand how any person who wasnt in diapers when Kiffin was here can accept him back

Only if Ainge was relevant as he thinks he is. I never liked him to begin with. He is just like Butch , always thinks he is the smartest person in the room. Now I hope they hire Kiffin just to get rid of Ainge.

My Lawd Volnation has completely lost it's collective mind!! Step back, take a deep breath and just read through some of these threads with a clear head...it's pure craziness! I like to think of myself as a rational, open minded Vol fan but I feel like I'm in an episode of the damn twilight zone! I've never witnessed such insanity from a University, it's administration,
it's athletic department and it's fan base in all of my 39 years of being a sports fan! Someone pinch me so I can wake up from this Big Orange nightmare!!

Come on man! When the going gets tough, ... well Butch Jones goes 6-22. But this is an exciting time for the fans. Just remember we dont have to watch BJ try to coach offense at UT ever again, it will keep you sane
