wtf...:crazy:I fully support rules and punishment. However, I disagree that at this level running steps is effective. I don't have the answer as to how to properly punish someone, bit I can say that running steps seems a little middle-schoolish. Maybe it's still effective in high school? Anyhow, Rogers is in super top notch shape, that's stupid to make him run....
A mature college athlete should complete thier coach's punishment, no matter what they think of it. Especially if it is a simple task like laps, steps, up-downs, whatever the case may be. To refuse to do so displays terrible attitude, immaturity, and disrespect. Nobody in this world is handed anything, and if you don't do what is expected of you, you don't just get privileges handed to you.
Be careful not to let who the player is cloud your judgement. You criticize Dooley for a
silly punishment, but you don't criticize
Darick for complete disregard for his coach?
What is this world coming to? I can't believe
people actually think this way.

Its a matter of will for Darick. He's got the ambition and all, but does he have the drive and the fortitude to do what's asked and accept that football isn't an individual sport? He's got all the talent in the world but what he lacks most is the heart and fire. He craves the spotlight. I just don't think he really has that burning desire to compete or that burning hatred for losing.
I tip my hat to the competitive fire of any guy who'll go over the middle in the SEC, and Da'Rick proved he can do that.
Simply put, dude's good, and we do need him, even though he's an idiot. Hopefully the team can help get his head screwed on right.
Who else do we have a WR? A JH11 coming off major knee surgery, a highly touted JUCO recruit, ZR (yeah, that's how bad it is), and a bunch of freshmen that may be good, but we don't know.
I'm all for punishment, discipline, and rules, but it people honestly believe our offense is better off without the teams ONLY All SEC player, then they should never complain again about talent beig a factor in our losses.
You make good points, but what should Dooley do? Should he just let Da'Rick openly defy him, blatantly disrespect him in front of the rest of the guys?
Seems like certain players getting preferential treatment was a contributing factor to the mess known as the UK Debacle.
I'm not interested in seeing a repeat performance, that movie sucked the first time.
