According to Da'Rick

DR is a very, very talented WR...no doubt.

Potential game breaker, no doubt.

Serious NFL talent, no doubt.

But then, suddenly...when I read through this thread...and recall those times when DR was more about DR, and much less about UT...like the UK game...I start to question, and then doubt, whether his commitment to UT equals the commitment UT made to him.

Now this. Internal issue. DR not at practice. Only one reason for that: Coach and player at odds.

I may be wrong. This would not be the first time. But all of a sudden, tonight, I get the feeling that the best thing for UT to do...and the best thing for Dooley to do...is cut DR loose. Tonight. Now. Immediately.

Probably won't happen. DR might turn out to be a major player for UT in 2012.

But I doubt it. Hard for a zebra to change it's stripes.

Go Vols.

And the thing that gets me is he can't practice. Well if he doesn't want to go to meetings and run , not going to practice must seem like a bonus for him. No doubt he is a great player , but I don't know if what Dooley is doing is exactly punishment. I can only compare it to getting suspended for 3 days in high school for being late a few times. My grades were good. It was nice weather. I was a senior and my parents didn't think being late a few times was a big deal. I basically said thanks to my principal on the way out the door. I'm just not sure Da'rick is going to get the message by not having to practice. Infact , I doubt he gets the message at all. If Dooley does something harsh like suspend him for some games , he will likely bolt and I'm sure CDD knows that.

I fully support rules and punishment. However, I disagree that at this level running steps is effective. I don't have the answer as to how to properly punish someone, bit I can say that running steps seems a little middle-schoolish. Maybe it's still effective in high school? Anyhow, Rogers is in super top notch shape, that's stupid to make him run....

I was just using examples. haven't heard what the specific punishment was but it is physical

Hes talking to Justin Hunter and Bray (Rucker posted some pic of them talking outside of Gibbs.. kinda creepy)... Mo Couch was on him earlier. Teammates are stepping up and reaching out to him. I'm sure he will get it.

Look at Dooleys philosophy.. He compares coaching to parenting to a certain degree... if your kid doesnt take the trash out you dont kick him or her out of the house. You yell at them or ground them. He is not with the team.. he is grounded. Its a juvenile analogy but none of you are seeing this in fair eyes. How many teenagers tell their parents no? Plenty. You act on the rumors and not the facts. Facts are he is taking care of something before rejoining the team. Facts are a transfer was not discussed as of 11:30 this morning. Facts are nothing solid has come out since. We are on the outside and for some reason most of you act like you are on the inside. My point is save the trashing for when it comes out as fact. The saddest part of all of this is that yall opinion is set without knowing what the discrepancy is..

When I look at Dooley's philosophy as you state it, the first thing that comes to mind is, don't you love all your children the same? Do the kids all know the rules and the consequences of breaking them? Does the best looking kid get different treatment than the not as handsome?

This guy is in year 3, not day 3. I'm not trashing him, I'm not even giving him advice...because I'm on a message board where folks share their opinions, I know some think they are talking to the players and coaches directly, I'm not one of them lol.

When the players who are at practice have to spend most of their time in post practice interviews talking about Da'Rick, I think there is evidence that he's become a distraction.

I wonder how much longer CDD will be able to claim "Da'Rick is fine, I have no idea where these suspension claims started". I have no doubt things with the young man and UT football has not been on good terms since the day the "suspension reports" hit the media. CDD denied them then, and alot of people knew better. Seems just a matter of time before the kid transfers or is booted.

Hope so. The drama never ends and it would be nice to go into this season without one of our best players getting kicked off again. The list of names that we have kicked off in the past before the season even started is no joke. I wonder if James Banks has any regrets yet?

Seriously? Are you that thick after all of these posts and CDD's statement??? DaRick screwed up and CDD has given him the opportunity to redeem himself. If DaRick isnt "on point" tomorrow punt his arse to Ga St.!! THIS IS TENNESSEE!!!

Im not too confident with that scenario. Our kicking game sucks. Darr will shank it, and Da'Rick will end up at North Carolina.

Did you see his tweet? Wearing Orange and playing for UT is not an entitlement based on talent...its a prvilege based on talent AND character meaning if the Coach tells you to do something you GET IT DONE! I'm tired of these kids and thier attitudes as are many VFL fans...I dont give a shiite if he is Michael Irvin REBORN! He's been told by his leader to accomplish tasks...GET IT DONE or LEAVE child

He said "Georgia State. Wasup?" Big deal. Its all based off of interpretation. He didnt say "I think im leaving UT" Please tell me how you got entitlement out of that.

Da'Rick isn't even top 5 all time here. To say he is one of the best ever is a joke. I agree though, if he was at any other SEC school, I would ridicule the coaches if he wasn't booted. Btw, I live in Nashville, and build trucks for Nissan, im not a media member. Pretty sure any mod can tell you my location, by tracking my IP adress. Ten again, I could be saying this to deflect the truth. Why didn't you call out my colleague-Rucker? Hidden agenda?

DR is one of the best ever. He should be able to do whatever he wants. UT is lucky he chose to bring his talents here. He doesn't need to practice. Just throw him the ball 10-15 times per game and our chances of
Winning increase greatly. If he played on a different team we'd all want to see him dismissed. But, he plays for our favorite team, so, just let him do whatever he want for one more season.

There. I said what many are thinking, but wouldn't say it themselves. And watch out for media lurkers on here (escape goat comes to mind... Callahan).

He wasnt at practice for a reason. CDD said it would take him no less than a day to redeem himself. I wont eat a bag of popcorn waiting. I hope he realizes time and patience are running thin and he needs to man up now or leave. Leaving will cost him 30 or 40 million and I hope that will drive him to find character.

So...is Da'Rick made out of wood? or is he a duck? If he walks like a duck and quacks like a duck he must be made out of wood....Everybody get your pitchforks ..theys gonna be a burnin.

Why didn't "you" blow your cover tonight like he did me Mr Rucker? I feel singled out. That's not fair at all.

When reached for comment, Rogers stated that he is considering a transfer and that, "Georgia State would be the only place I'd look at."

Agree with this. If he leaves it will cost him money.
