According to Da'Rick

Tennessee's season doesn't depend on a prima donna like DaRick. He appears to be only about himself and I'm all for what ever Dooley decides with him. Players like DaRick destory teams they do not make them better!!!

Burn her!!!!!!!

Anyone with a carrot nose deserves it.

I fully support rules and punishment. However, I disagree that at this level running steps is effective. I don't have the answer as to how to properly punish someone, bit I can say that running steps seems a little middle-schoolish. Maybe it's still effective in high school? Anyhow, Rogers is in super top notch shape, that's stupid to make him run....
wtf...

A mature college athlete should complete thier coach's punishment, no matter what they think of it. Especially if it is a simple task like laps, steps, up-downs, whatever the case may be. To refuse to do so displays terrible attitude, immaturity, and disrespect. Nobody in this world is handed anything, and if you don't do what is expected of you, you don't just get privileges handed to you.

Be careful not to let who the player is cloud your judgement. You criticize Dooley for a
silly punishment, but you don't criticize
Darick for complete disregard for his coach?
What is this world coming to? I can't believe
people actually think this way.

well said! Thank you! GBO!!!

I think some players have stepped in this time.

While some will say another outburst like this is bad, if the players handle it more with Darick then the coaches, it could turn into a good thing.

If Da'Rick is going to be the next TO, then I'd prefer he do it elsewhere...

If he wants to engage in a battle of wills with Dooley, then he will end up elsewhere...

Either way, the 2012 season will be his last in college. He will declare for the 2013 NFL draft, regardless of where, or if, he plays in 2012.

He isn't going to make or break the offense in 2012, so he either gets onboard and stops being a distraction, or he takes that crap somewhere else.

Simple as that. And at this point, he's a distraction, so I'd rather see him playing at a directional state school rather than risk him ruining the chemistry of the team.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

Go Vols.

DaRick...You've got some work to do. Its not what happens in life that reflects character it's how you react. You don't have to wear an 'S' on your chest but you better darn well represent that 'T'!...Get it done!

Not if he broke the rules. Act like a child, get treated like one. Time for him to grow up and be a man or head back to Georgia.

If you have to run Neyland steps, that is a punishment. That is a big incline and a lot of steps.

Real simple. He either shuts up and plays ball for the next 9 months, and is a 1st rd. draft pick...or, the fool can transfer and be a 3rd or 4th rounder. If he's that stupid, I wish he'd leave tonight.

Its a matter of will for Darick. He's got the ambition and all, but does he have the drive and the fortitude to do what's asked and accept that football isn't an individual sport? He's got all the talent in the world but what he lacks most is the heart and fire. He craves the spotlight. I just don't think he really has that burning desire to compete or that burning hatred for losing.

It's the worst kind of extravagance the way he spends his chances. I guess he can consider running the steps his training for getting the big bucks on Sundays....or making union wages. It's up to you Da'Rick.

I tip my hat to the competitive fire of any guy who'll go over the middle in the SEC, and Da'Rick proved he can do that.

Simply put, dude's good, and we do need him, even though he's an idiot. Hopefully the team can help get his head screwed on right.

Who else do we have a WR? A JH11 coming off major knee surgery, a highly touted JUCO recruit, ZR (yeah, that's how bad it is), and a bunch of freshmen that may be good, but we don't know.

I'm all for punishment, discipline, and rules, but it people honestly believe our offense is better off without the teams ONLY All SEC player, then they should never complain again about talent beig a factor in our losses.

The best thing Dooley can say to DR is, "if you want to be a part of this team there's the door. If you don't want to be part of this team, there's the door. But I'm tired of this dancing around, being a distraction because I've got 84 other players that do want to be part of this team".

You make good points, but what should Dooley do? Should he just let Da'Rick openly defy him, blatantly disrespect him in front of the rest of the guys?

Seems like certain players getting preferential treatment was a contributing factor to the mess known as the UK Debacle.

I'm not interested in seeing a repeat performance, that movie sucked the first time.

Does he not realize when he goes to the NFL he going to get drilled about his attitude. Maybe he has watches the T.O. show much.

No, I hear ya, CDD is in a tough spot, but I do believe that this is far more minor than ESPN and KNS are making it out to be. We all know that our fair city's media correspondents have been in a hissy since Dooley basically cut them off.

However, he's got to put in the work. Run the stairs, do the up-downs, and etc.

If he can't see how hard it is for guys like JJ or Janoris Jenkins to go pro from crappy schools, than that's all on DR. Coach can't control that, but trying hard to keep him doesn't hurt me when the team's behind him.

I've been in the locker room where the star was a douche, and even though I resented it some, when we were in that huddle I knew he had my back. He hated the coaches, but put it all on the line. I still respected the guy, and I see a similar reaction coming from the team. Da'Rick balls hard on the field. If he can clean it up off the field we will be better for it as a team.
