A good handgun

I thought you'd never ask, pard. Well, one day, ol' Maryann thought it would be a good idea to enter a chili cookoff. It turns out that she was incorrect on that count, because it didn't turn out to be a good idea at all. She entered the cookoff at the Cleveland County fair, and everyone was too busy eatin' fried butter sticks to sample her chili. It was incredible. She was from thinner parts of the nation, so she didn't understand us at all, pard.

I think he needs to start with a .22 or .380

I think so, too. Easier price to get in to and much, much cheaper ammo. About 20 years ago, I bought two Intratec's. A Tec 9 and a Tec 22. With two 30 round clips, the 22 is the only one that gets shot.

Not for sale. Sorry. They're like good books to me. Keep them forever. I'll be curious to see what you end up with. I think the 9mm is a good decision on caliber if you can afford to shoot it.

that's a sound philosphy...their paid for, and don't eat anything

I had a Taurus, then I bought a Beretta also, so I traded the Taurus for a Colt MKIV .45...
The .45 doesn't have the capacity of the Taurus or the Beretta, but I enjoy shooting it more and it's more compact.
So I would suggest shooting them both and deciding

In .22's there's only been about a gazillion Rugers sold in the MK I/II/III line as well as the 22/45. The latter specifically has a GI .45 angle grip to facilitate volume practice with the .22 and then going to the .45.

While I've never personally fired an XD I know of many people who can't quite "get" a Glock to work for them love their XD's. They can be had at reasonable prices.

XD 9MM,4",Gear Package,NIB,REDUCED Springfield Armory Pistols > XD (eXtreme Duty) for sale, gun classifieds or gun auction from AJC Sports Inc. Buy or bid on this XD 9MM,4",Gear Package,NIB,REDUCED in the category Springfield Armory Pistols > XD (eXt

As for 50AE's I prefer my .500 S&W if I wanted to go that big in general and a .460 Rowland if I wanted an auto. (not that I wouldn't mind shooting an AE one day)

Now that's a nice firearm!

a .22 is tiny. and a .380 has more expensive ammunition.

Ruger and Browning make excellent full size .22's. I have the Browning Buckmark, it gets used more than anthing else I own. I have a .380, but it is just for CC-definatley not a shooter. 4 inch .357 is the house gun, I have more confindence in it at night.
