2025 Transfer Portal

I would put UConn at #1 starting the season due to being the defending National Champions, but they definitely will take a step back without Paige.
Doesn’t matter what fans think you don’t replace a player of that caliber in a few months.
The number of games they lose during the regular season will come down to their non-conference slate and home-court advantage.
So you're saying it doesn't matter what you are saying . Gotcha .

Really not anybody out there to get for LSU so they will be going with Koval, Joyner, and freshman Knox. They may pick up another post, but it won't be anybody even close to any of the three they have now. Our post group looks better than theirs for next season.

I bet LSU offered more money than UConn, but when Mulkey insisted she takes a couple of her outfits she wears on the sidelines that killed the deal.

I have a feeling Kim will be just fine with who she has in the post. Knox looks ready to go and Koval and Joyner can both play. Certainly not an Emergecy situation for them.

Thank you. I still play golf two times a week, work out at the gym three times a week, and I lift light weights every night before goin to bed. I try to stay active because when you stop, it is difficult to get back into it once you stip. My mom was 103 when she died and I told one of my Docs that I plan on out living her.
God bless you, sir!

Doesn't bode well for most teams hoping that UConn would be more vulnerable this coming season. Serah will lessen the blow of losing Paige. You give up on the perimeter, but make up with a stronger inside game, which has been their kryptonite for the past few seasons.
Right.

A bunch of shorties… NOT.

Barker would be a hard match up for Strong IMHO.

Zee guarded her most this season and did a great job. Forced her into a lot of contested fade away jumpers.

On the other end she made her work and guard her all over the court. That was probably Spearman’s most active game.

After that night Strong became a different player. Changed the trajectory of UConn’s entire season. A Tennessee loss propelled them to a championship.

Maybe next season a UConn loss does the same for us…

The Lady Vols will be competitive against any team in the country next year. We have a great mix of players with the talent to compliment each other. I worry about the UCONNs and South Carolinas of the world but we have outstanding coaches who will have the LVs ready for each game. I just can’t see this group backing down from any competition. Go Lady Vols!!

This.
This is why I think Danny considers CKC's system "the future" of women's basketball.

Since the college women's game still takes place below the rim, there's an inevitable stagnancy about to happen, as the best programs will be able to stack their rosters with outlier height. Then, the game becomes a dull-to-watch battle of DNA and 3-point shooting.

Our system is staking the claim that there's another way to beat height, that allows more sizes of players to achieve success and creates a more enjoyable game for spectators.

Time will tell...

yeah spearman was a beast. no doubt. so, basically, given our rotations strong will deal with them both. ha. i like it.

I hope she has the best season in the history of basketball. So glad she’s back w her sis and Dad, and at Pats Alma Matar.

Hard to remember, but when DW came here they thought she’d be the starting PG. Had a great yr at Belmont the yr before (a Sara Puckett bailout 3 away fm S16) and was a highly rated transfer. Then had nothing but bad luck. To be honest, in the few games she played lack of size and quickness hurt her.

Not all bigs are created equal, obviously.

Outside of Serah Williams and Sarah Strong, let's look:

1. Mamel and Quinonez are freshmen international players
2. El Alfy has been inconsistent all season, but admittedly has had some good moments
3. Brady has largely been a bust
4. Patterson and Ducharme have largely not played at all for 2+ years due to injuries

Before Williams signed, Strong was the only consistent inside force for UConn, and she's still only 6'2. They needed an upgrade from El Alfy, and got it in Williams. That lets El Alfy slide over to the bench and probably lets her play more aggressive defense since there's less of a drop off if she gets in foul trouble and they have to rely on an unproven freshman.

ElAlfy is a redshirt freshman, so she has time to get better. Since Tina Charles is back with the Conn. Sun, I'm hoping that she can work with Jana after her season is over.

So glad we don’t have to deal with her in the SEC. She would’ve made OK a tougher team.

Big get for UCLA though.

Yes OU would have been crazy tough with her. They aren’t very scary without her. Worse than last season for sure. They lost some really quality players to graduation.

I’m not overly impressed with Chavez, I don’t think she’ll do very well in the SEC. Really poor shot selection, not a good passer and the physicality is going to be a lot for her.

Agreed.

SC was also in on Kneepkens, so I’m glad they didn’t get her either.

As it sits, I don’t see an SEC team that’s much better than us on paper.

We’re right there, imo. Still need to prove it though.

I'll never forget that time Destinee torched us for 22 points and got SIX rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in a game we barely beat Belmont in. She was truly special before injuries took her mobility.

Also is a reminder that interest in our program was waning at the time: attendance was just 5484. I doubt we will see anything that low in the foreseeable future.
