Really kinda of sad tournament. Seemed like this was going to be a dynamic and fun tournament w all these dynamic players leading teams in USc, ND, the LVs and even to some extent NC state. But just boo. All these games in the 40s and 50s cuz of the rise of defense. Now they are allowing too much contact with a lot of aggressive pushing and hands on. At one point in the last 10 ish years it seems a defensive player was allowed a single one hand touch for just a moment on a player as part of freedom of movement.l on offense. Now defenses ride players the whole game. Look what happens when you are allowed to lean on them the whole game, Juju blows an ACL because of it.

I still give Dawn credit for getting Dawns day care this far. They’ve accomplished a lot this yr, esp without Watkins. But they stunk it up today, esp offensively. Couldn’t get by with Pao Pao, Kitts and Fulwiley all no shows.

I love that the LV loss was the come to Jesus for UConn. This team is a million miles from that one, clearly the best team in this tourney. Credit Geno, that ole cuss still got it. Everyone always said if Paige and Azzi get healthy at the same time watch out. Then throw in Strong who may be better than either. Strong is something else.

What a fun and crazy season. Also, big congrats to maple!

I think Strong is the future. I have followed UConn for more than 30 years and she is the best freshman thatI have seen.

I think if u get a player like Latson or similar u need to trust them to be out there longer, maybe watch them or let them tell u if they need a break.Everyone else can be subbed according to the coach.

The win over Ohio State, the HS recruiting class w/ positive reviews nationwide during the McDAAG based on performances of Mia and Jaida, Deniya winning a HS Nat’l Championship w/ a good showing are all great building blocks.
ESPN already has Tennessee at #8 in the Way To Early Power Rankings.

Better watch what they do, cannot go backward at this point. Women’s basketball burst through the blockade the past couple years. Too much more like this and they will end up back in the 2001.

Makes the Kim Caldwell era that much more appealing.

If we get her then yes 25 at least. Regardless of who we get and how we play we cannot let teams score 80 points or more. We can't be last in defense in the SEC. Whatever it takes to fix the defense is more important than how much a player plays. We scored 86 lost. 87 lost, Failed to reboud a miss and lost to Vandy, scored 76 and lost, scored 76 again and lost. We have to get where if we score over 70 points we win.
I agree that the subbing is to quick, but we have more problems as well mostly defense and rebounding.

Were going to be improved for sure. I think were getting close to being as good as anyone in the SEC and most teams in the nation. We need a little help the freshmen are a start and the portal needs to be the other part of it.

Right. I agree with you. I knew UConn would win more championships. Just like I know Tennessee will win more championships.
Coach Caldwell has laid the foundation at Tennessee in year 1 and I believe with her mindset they are already preparing to win it next season.

I’m not aiming this at you, just making a general statement.
I don’t know maybe it’s part of the disposition of this forum but it’s a given that Coach Caldwell will sign a portal class to fill this roster. I don’t see one person who has said the roster is set right now for 2025-2026. No team roster is set for 2025-2026 so we shouldn’t expect Tennessee’s roster in April to have a complete depth chart.
The portal class may or may not be what this forum fanbase thinks is what the team needs but nobody on here knows better than Coach Caldwell and her assistants how to build a team.
The moment Coach Caldwell brings in the final players that’s when this team will take the first step in competing for another SEC and Nat’l championship as they did in year 1.

You may hold onto that belief. I was in Knoxville for that game. The UConn team in this tournament run was not remotely the same team. In Knoxville they shot 40% and 25% from three, missing many makeable shots. It is called a home court advantage for a reason. From that point on, they became a different team as evidenced by the dismantling of several very good teams. However, feel free to hold onto that belief the same way I currently believe that if the UConn men had just played one more good possession against Florida they’d be playing for the national championship tomorrow.
