2025 NCAA WBB Tournament non LV games and news

interesting flavor for this thread after UConn who started three #1 recruits, all who were exceptional in the tourney. and instead of enjoying the upsurge of women's basketball several boarders only continued their whining about not having a team as good, or nearly as good, or more than average .... not having an X, nor a Y.

As a lifelong fan of the game of women's basketball and having lived thru the hayday of LVs sitting in the seats, I still enjoy the games and recognize that the current LV teams is a top 16 team perhaps but not yet the next level.

and BTW the LVs must be prepared for next year's game at UConn, who might be seeking revenge. (smile)

I don’t care who they get from the portal they won’t be as good next season without Paige. Williams isn’t the player some posters seem to believe on this forum. I would say that even if she comes to Tennessee.

Geno trying to get Serah Williams wouldn't doubt that is where she will go. That would make them a lot more dominant.

Ok so do u think we can compete for a Championship by subbing every min or does modifications need to take place?
I think she needs to up it to three minutes. She could go 3-3-2-2 would work better I think. I wasn't a fan of the early one minute subbing.

Your kidding right? You know they got the IMG Academy point guard and Fudd is back she will have more freedom to be the star. They really don't need Williams to be better than everybody else cause Strong will be much better as a Sophomore. Paige is the only player they lose other than Chen and they are replacing her with a better player.

You might have expected them to be exultant, but Geno and Bueckers were both
extremely humble in the interviews immediately after the win.

Oh, so he finally admitted that he was just being a petty donkey's rear end when he left Parker off the Olympic team? Good to hear that he's finally grown a pair.

We won't compete for a championship until we get some inside scoring. If we could get that player in the 2026 class that is from the state of Washington. Big O that might be one that could get us into the competition for a title.

Funny how DarkPhoenix tries to discredit Mia and Mya as elite recruits when nobody is even discussing these kids and make it personal with childish jokes about height trying to diminish their abilities. In the same day this kind of frivolous thinking gets exposed when ESPN mentions their names to the world while the message board poster is regulated to keyboard warrior status to demean athletes for no apparent reason.
Just be a fan. If you don’t like Tennessee just say it and go find another team to support.
GBO!

All Kellie needed was the right players, I’ll stand on that.
All any coach needs. Sc has been touting all season that Edwards was the best freshman better than Strong even Dawn was saying it. Guess that didn't age well. We saw a glimpse today of a player that is going to dominate for the next three seasons. He just has to put the right players around her to win a lot of titles.

I stand by that Mia and Mya are as good as any point guards in the 2025 class. They are not rebounder they are shooters and passers. They need people to set up to score. They are very good at their positions.

Kind of the perfect tournament for UConn. It was a throwback to the ops and early 2000s when it was UConn against old school ball. Starting with Arike and co, they couldn’t compete with dynamic guard driven teams. This tournament it seems all they played were old ass style teams. Cori Close is awful and I’ve said it for years. Every year her talented players get worse as the season goes on. Kiki was a great Rice was a great player when she was a freshman leading UCLA, dynamic and fun to watch. Now she and the rest of the team are a giant snooze fest as they play ball from the 6-on-6 days. Then of course SC somehow cannot recruit a 3 point shooter despite 3 chips. It’s like Geno’s dream to play against old school teams.

Look some things we agree on, some we don’t. I get your point. You could be right or it could turn out differently with them showing abilities to do more as basketball players.
You have to realize that Mia and Mya have never played in HS with other 4 and 5 star players. Heck, they probably haven’t had another teammate rated as a 3-star. They also never played AAU with 4 or 5 star players. Jaida Civil and Lauren Hurst teams also wasn’t loaded with 4 and 5 star players.
Our freshmen class has players coming from highly successful HS teams and have performed on a national level.
This is the most talent they will ever be surrounded by and it’ll make them better players because each of them already possess the basketball IQ and leadership skills to thrive at a top level WBB program such as Tennessee.
I won’t put a cap on anything when it comes to what each player can develop into on the next level.
