Why not? The offense could be as good as any Heupels had ,

And the Portal is full of defensive talent.

Attack the Portal like TT or Indiana and we have as good a shot as any.

Won’t get every portal guy you want. First year in new defensive system. New players. New QB.

Joey was severely undervalued by the public/fans. He was the D1 active career leader in total offense. Gonna be hard to find another one like that.

I expect a good season next year! I’m a Heup believer.

Not a NC. Of course would love to be wrong.

Oregon had a good squad last year. Beat OSU in regular season. Got absolutely rocked in the playoff. Objectively more talent than we’ll have in ‘26.

I just don’t see the jump from one playoff appearance to missing the playoff to NC the very next year. We’re still trying to consistently swim in those waters.

Isaiah Campbell (DT), Marion Dye and Weathersby (SDE) shouldn’t be forgotten about. Redmond too. He made several first team freshman lists (coaches, the Athletic, etc)

Fair question.
Even though his team made the playoffs they were never a real factor to win it

So now he can make a lot of money his last year on an elite team, and make his draft grade higher and have a real chance to win a championship.

That’s probably the thinking on his part.
