2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Aguilar did it against the SEC.

Not saying Barnett can’t be good here, but comparing his stats vs. JMU competition to Joey’s vs. Tennessee competition doesn’t really get us there.
We’ll look at what Joey did for App State his last season and then this season at UT.

Barrett with his legs keeps on the field longer. We desperately missed that element this season.

And he can probably at least match what Joey did. Maybe not.

Ohio St , UGA , Bama, LSU, they did what it took to win championships.
UGA won championships with a walk on ,
Didn’t worry about what 5 star recruits might do,
LSU took a transfer and won a Natty ,
Bama pushed a NC starter out the door for someone they thought was better.

Ohio st won with transfer after transfer.

Bottom line,, do what is gonna put you over the top, as a team.
If a recruit can’t except that, so be it.
After the Nico shenanigans, I'm done caring what some 5* HS QB thinks and with being held hostage by their whims

Would much rather have the JMU or UNLV QBs. Both of them actually played great in their teams biggest games and were the best QBs in their leagues. Paying more than 2 mil for any QB that wasn’t even third team all conference is a complete waste of money.
Totally agree

Yup. There are players out there. Kiffin found one. Vandy found one. Question in my mind is do we have a coach who knows what to look for? Heupel's QB evals have been rather disappointing to say the least. Thankfully, we have a QB coach we can look to for the answers. Yessir, a hidden gem incoming from the portal with Heupel and Halze on the job.

That’s why I don’t care for Hoover. If we’re going to get a portal QB, I want someone who can move.

I thought that was someone else. From around the tri-cities, IIRC. Sensabaugh, I think.

Edit: Looked it up, it was Jaren Sensabaugh.
Jaren Sensabaugh is from Nashville and went to Ensworth. He’s at NC State now. His dad and dad’s cousin were from the tri cities and played in the NFL. Gerald and Coty.

I say pay Sorsby whatever he wants and still find enough to get every defensive need. I know the money is there.
Where do you stand on world peace? Optimism has its limits. It is not whether we have money, but our relative position with ALL the other teams and what their needs do to offers for our targets.

Hoover's skill set is best for Indiana or Miami....more of a pass first offense...
I keep hearing that, but then I see Heupel go out and get a prospect like GMac. He doesn't look like much of a running threat to my tired old eyes. So why did Heupel go out and get a guy who doesn't appear to be a fit for his system? Seems so inconsistent and poorly thought out.

GMac is a better athlete than you would think. Not calling him Michael vick. But hes got some wheels

Soresby isn’t worth 4-5 million.
He’s wildly overhyped right now by everyone. He’s like Joe Milton. His highlights look awesome, but he does not look like that all game. And he had some bad performances in their biggest games. If he were cheap, it would make sense, but paying him like a Heisman candidate is insane. It would essentially be the same as making Aguilar the highest paid QB in the country.
