2022 NFL Offseason Thread

It sounds like he'd get his pick? The Texans already approved multiple trade offers.

-The Texans reportedly approved all trades prior to Watson meeting with teams, meaning that the Saints, Panthers, Browns, and Falcons all put together trade packages that meet Houston's asking price. Watson will ultimately have his pick on where he goes, per Dianna Russini.

-According to Dianna Russini, Watson also reached out to the Falcons personally. What this means for Matt Ryan's future is, of course, unclear.

-Per Ian Rapoport, the Browns are also meeting with Watson, casting doubt on Baker Mayfield's status with the team.

How about Buck and Aikman being hired by ESPN for MNF? Better than anyone they've had in recent years.

I'm kinda surprised they paid so much for them. It's hard to believe that the commentary team makes that much of a difference for MNF, but I guess they would know since they see the numbers. Kinda suspect a pissing contest between networks, but I must be wrong.

I'm glad they got Aikman and Buck on MNF, but it will not make any difference on whether or not I tune in.

I don't understand this at all, but so happy for my guy and glad the Broncos didn't pay him this.
I’ll wait to criticize the Bills until we see the actual breakdown of the contract. If it’s truly 6 years then they’ve lost their damn minds. I’d guess that it’s more of a 2-3 year deal.

Edit: and it’s pretty much a two-year deal

Do you know what the dead cap is in year 3?

My guess as to what happened...

Baker hears the Watson trade talks
He feels betrayed and his emotional reaction is to bid farewell
Front office can't believe his antics and decides they need an adult, no matter what happens with Watson

Looks like Watson will be a Falcon
Down to the Saints and the Falcons. He gets to choose where he goes because it involves waiving his no-trade clause. JMO, but the Saints seem like a better option simply because they appear to have more on offense. If I'm Watson, that'd be a big consideration for me. Especially with Falcons' WR Calvin Ridley facing trouble for gambling.
