2021 SEC Tournament (seeding, schedule)

I almost hope we don't make up the Florida or SCar games. I think this team desperately needs a break with nagging injuries to Fulky, Pons, and JJJ. Additionally, Barnes' teams seemingly always struggle down the stretch and having 12 day or so layoff before the SEC tourney could really benefit this team.

I doubt that Springer is 100% after turning his ankle, but even an 80% Springer is better than most of the roster.

I don’t think he is either. Was noticeable when he returned
Springer is arguably playing at 60%, Fulky is probably in a position where he can’t compete because of injury, JJJ is out for who knows how long, and Vescovi has a lingering hip injury. This is all on Barnes......haha.

He can most likely move well in one direction but opposing scouts know which way to defend him to take advantage of his bad ankle.

I wonder if this might be just a 12 team SEC Tournament since Texas A&M has Covid issues within the program.

Has the SEC specifically said how they’re seeding? Is it based on win %?

That’s how they have them listed in their published standings. They pretty much have to since teams are playing 16. 17, 18, or a TBD number of games. It shouldn’t affect the group of double byes and single byes but sure will with the seedings within each group.

Any word on tickets? I’m thinking about trying to go but there isn’t anything in the second market sites

Unbelievably, it looks like TN can mathematically still get a 3 seed. But LSU would have to lose at Missouri and versus Vandy in BR.

If Missouri beats FL then TN versus Florida winner takes the 4th double bye.

5th seed for TN is highly probable at this point (2pm on Thursday) versus Vandy/TxAM winner. But if TxAM can’t go it would be the USC/Vandy winner OR more likely the Wednesday game doesn’t happen and it will be Tn versus Vandy (or USC).

Most likely 5 seed but 4 seed isn’t out of the question.

Insane: if you had told me in the early season that Bama would be the #1 seed with a 16-2/15-3 SEC record and UT would finish right at .500, I would have called you crazy.

Bruce is 12-13. He has to win at Bama AND versus Miss State to avoid just his 3rd losing season ever. All of then at Barn.

Good, because Bama is going to spank 'em. Of course, the Pearl apologists have a built in excuse, with Cooper hurt and their self-imposed post season ban, "it didn't matter anyway and they still beat UT". I wonder what Chuck Person thinks about Pearl ? I bet Person beats the sh!t out of Pearl when he gets out of prison
