2020 Primaries

So you’re saying Amy is a smarter choice as running mate than Kamala, or it won’t matter?

Honestly, if I was legitimately advising the campaign I’d advocate for balancing the ticket and do so in a way to unite the two wings of the party. Depending on your political leanings it may not matter who the pick for VP is but if you’re in one of the wings of the party in question it probably matters a whole lot.

Why did JFK pick LBJ? Why did Ronald Reagan pick G.H.W. Bush? Why did Bama pick OBiden? Why did Trump pick Pence? I’d argue in all of those cases it was to bring ideological balance to the ticket? In this case I think there could be another consideration for balance. Whoever is the VP must be seen as a legitimate candidate to take over the office because a big issue in the campaign will probably be OBiden’s early onset dementia.

I don’t think Amy brings ideological balance to the ticket. There is only one woman candidate I think right now on voter’s minds that can bring that ideological balance to the ticket, has a legitimate plan (or thousands) for what she would do if called on to assume the office, and already has the scalp of the 3-term former mayor of New York City to her credit. I think, at the moment, the obvious choice for VP on the OBiden ticket is Pocahontas.

Thanks, I appreciate your analysis. I think electoral votes may have played more of a role than ideology in some of those cases. In Biden’s case someone who could run the country from day one is going to be weighted more than ever. However, I really hope it ain’t Pocahontas.

I agree with this and think Biden agreeing with EWs plan was a tip off . I thought as soon as he said it that it would be EW . 🤷‍♂️

JFK picked Johnson for the Texas electoral votes. Reagan picked Bush because of his experience in government, and the fact he had a lot of support in the primaries. Bama picked Obiden for his experience in government to counter Bama's lack of same. Trump picked Pence to get the religious right's votes.

Na
No, it wouldn't. It would be the ultimate identity politics. She would draw both the black and female vote. She is the only thing that scares me.

You give him too much credit, Joes on life support and nobody wants her as potus over Trump. Blacks have done well as most of us have and they know it ain’t because of Obumma..The debates would be pure gold 😂

JFK picked LBJ because he knew with the Mafia fixing illinois for him, all he needed was some underhanded tricks to win Texas and thus barely eek out the electoral votes needed

Just watching CNN and new polling in primary states. 50% of Dems in IL say the economic system in the nation needs a Major Overhaul. Unbelievable.

So have any Republicans come out and hammered the Dems for still having their primaries while the country is being told to shut down? Just curious. Given how the parties go tit for tat, I'd almost expect it.

Typical Republican playbook. Don't address the content of the article, just insult the source.
do you even know anything about Vox? Based on your history of ...for lack of a word that will have the post deleted..... let’s say “silliness”...I bet you don’t.... or..... you fall into the same group of “silly” people that believe the trash commonly seen on their site. Most normal folks know it’s nothing more than a liberal ass rag.
