So you’re saying Amy is a smarter choice as running mate than Kamala, or it won’t matter?
Honestly, if I was legitimately advising the campaign I’d advocate for balancing the ticket and do so in a way to unite the two wings of the party. Depending on your political leanings it may not matter who the pick for VP is but if you’re in one of the wings of the party in question it probably matters a whole lot.
Why did JFK pick LBJ? Why did Ronald Reagan pick G.H.W. Bush? Why did Bama pick OBiden? Why did Trump pick Pence? I’d argue in all of those cases it was to bring ideological balance to the ticket? In this case I think there could be another consideration for balance. Whoever is the VP must be seen as a legitimate candidate to take over the office because a big issue in the campaign will probably be OBiden’s early onset dementia.
I don’t think Amy brings ideological balance to the ticket. There is only one woman candidate I think right now on voter’s minds that can bring that ideological balance to the ticket, has a legitimate plan (or thousands) for what she would do if called on to assume the office, and already has the scalp of the 3-term former mayor of New York City to her credit. I think, at the moment, the obvious choice for VP on the OBiden ticket is Pocahontas.
