2016 Election Thread Part Deux

https://youtu.be/-fXoXRHwK5k

Hillary Clinton claimed that not a single person was lost in Libya. She even made the statement with a straight face.

I'm the last person to ever defend that lying hag on here, but the context of the conversation was about the operations to topple Qaddafi and not the aftermath. And she is correct we didn't lose anyone during Operation Odyssey Dawn.

Of course, MSNBC (shockingly) didn't ask the natural follow up to that question.

Today is the day gentlemen. Whether we like it or not, we march towards an inevitable showdown between HRC and Trump. Can't wait.

Imagine that.

North Carolina officials won't charge Trump in connection with altercation at rally | Fox News

Authorities in North Carolina say there isn't enough evidence to press charges against Donald Trump for his behavior in connection with a violent altercation at one of his rallies last week.

In a statement issued Monday night, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said legal counsel advised and Sheriff Earl "Moose" Butler agreed that the evidence doesn't meet the requisites of North Carolina law to support a conviction for inciting a riot.

If you look another way, Trump is the only candidate left on either side who isn't a career politician. A lot of people across the country are sick and tired of politicians because politicians don't represent most of America - who knows the number, but they aren't likely to have much to do with either party, so polls may very well show nothing about them. Politicians don't like Trump because he isn't one of them and can't be counted on to play their game; that, too can be a selling point for those who are fed up. The question is how many are there and will they vote because it gives them the opportunity to reject another career politician - another wasted vote. But, hey, your numbers could be right - Dewey might win in a landslide.

Voting for someone because they're an outsider alone doesn't make much sense, that's a qualitative attribute. All that should matter is their policies, and I'm not sure that Trump's have broad appeal or would be effective.

When it comes to national elections, I tend to question labels like outsider. Is it really possible for a "true" outsider to make any headway in a national election? Or to put it another way, I think Trump has been branded as an "outsider" by the media more than that actually being an outsider. Probably he has the complete support of the Republicans and has for a long while.

Question for you then (no troll, promise)

If you are a Kasich supporter, why not Rubio? Many if not most of their stances are the same.

Just curious and an open question to those who support Kasich.
Kasich actually worked at his last job.

Trump hits 50% support among GOP voters..Hope Rubio finds a good job in the private sector..he destroyed his political future according to this poll

Two weeks ago, the national Economist/YouGov Poll showed Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz battling for second place behind Trump, in a field which still included retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson (who has since endorsed Trump). This week, Rubio is battling Ohio Governor John Kasich for last place, with half the support Republican voters give to Cruz. He is behind both Cruz and Kasich when Republican voters are asked for their second choice. And only 19% of Republican voters would be enthusiastic about a Rubio nomination (in contrast, half would be enthusiastic if Trump were the nominee).

Rubio is the least liked of all the remaining GOP candidates. His favorable rating among Republican primary voters has dropped nine points from what it was two weeks ago; his unfavorable rating has jumped eleven points in the same period. Every other remaining contender, including Kasich, receives better ratings.

If Bernie pulls of Illinois and Ohio and Missouri it will get really really interesting

He's only hanging around because he energizes young voters. If he were truly serious about winning the nomination over Hillary, his campaign would be screaming about the fact that over 100 FBI agents are investigating Hillary's unsecured email server.

The way the Dem primaries are set up the super delegates will decide the winner if no one reaches the mark in the primaries and Hillary has the majority of them locked up.

Went in to do my civic duty today at my local highschool down here in Broward County or as we call it blue County and was given the wrong ballot by the older woman running the show... I told her this one isn't for me and she apologized but Def seemed perplexed. And I understand I look 21 years old, (I'm 28) every young person down here is mostly registered Democrat.. I just laughed it off and told her no worries.

They're not obligated to stick with their original choice, or so I've been told

I'M not sure how the super delegates are even chosen. I just read Hillary had secured the majority of them. They may be able to switch.

I betcha the GOP wish they had them some super delegates about now so they could control who the nominee will be.

Tbh I doubt the super delegates swap to Sanders even if it becomes apparent Clinton can't win the general. I believe she had many in the bag last time She ran, and they flopped to Obama, but he was a much DNC friendly candidate than Sanders is.

I commend the GOP for NOT having them.
