2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Best bets for tomorrow? Honestly Rubio and Kasich have no path to the nomination and need to drop out. Can Bernie steal another state and make Hillary cough up a lung?

Primary Calendar
March 15
Florida G.O.P. winner-take-all
Illinois G.O.P. winner-take-most
Missouri
Northern Mariana Islands Republican Caucus
Democratic caucus is March 12.
North Carolina
Ohio G.O.P. winner-take-all

My uninformed guesses:

GOP:
Florida - Trump +13
Illinois - Trump +7
Missouri - Cruz +1
North Carolina - Trump +12
Ohio - Kasich +3

Dems:
Florida - Clinton +33
Illinois - Sanders +3
Missouri - Sanders +5
Ohio - Clinton +2
North Carolina - Clinton +21

My uninformed guesses:

Dems:

And that'll be all she wrote for Rubio this election cycle.

Filing charges would not go over well for that DA.

First question anyone should ask should the DA decide to go that way - "Why were you attending a speech if you weren't there to listen?" Common sense says that the person interrupting the speech is the offender - not the victim. He went looking for trouble and found it.

What does it say when the media publish articles like this:

"Trump protesters are heroes: They’re reminding voters how much of a monster Trump is"

"Protests at rallies may provoke conservative backlash, but they also expose Trump's heinousness"

That is current in "news headlines" - I'm assuming Salon is a left wing nut case and has the right to publish what it sees fit, but still... If he is a "heinous monster", then does that make him not human? Does that imply that he should be exterminated like a dangerous predator? Does that make the magazine a fear and hate monger - one that could be seen as inciting people to violence - assassination? I am constantly amazed how liberals can accuse someone of inciting violence, and still ignore or justify their own words.

Yes, Salon is an often loony left-wing publication, which is a fun follow on Facebook simply for the laugh one gets by the looniness of many of their articles.

Trumpers, however, should not pay so much attention to what Trump says about the media. Trumpers should recognize that the media - left, right, and mainstream - has been their best friend. Without them, the Trump campaign would never have gotten off the floor. The media has made the Trump campaign. Trump just uses it masterfully for his own gain. Trumpers should get down on their knees every morning and say a brief prayer to the media.

Florida's Attorney General Pam Bondi Endorses Donald Trump - Breitbart

Florida’s Attorney General, Pam Bondi, endorsed GOP frontrunner Donald Trump at his campaign rally in Tampa, Florida on Monday afternoon.

Trump gave Bondi $25,000 to her reelection campaign in 2013 after she began to research investigating Trump University for fraud. After the donation, she decided not to follow up on it.

Go take a look at Breitbart's headlines on the front page. The extremes on both sides have silly clickbait headlines.

In 68 at the Democratic convention the police beat the crap out of protestors and threw them in jail. I guess we have come a long way.

Humans can be heinous monsters too.

Only 26 % of the population are Republicans. And Trump can't win even half of them. Indeed, a majority say they don't want him as the nominee.

That's bad math. And I'm horrible at math.

Same can be said of Clinton running against mr. nobody over 70. Trump has been running against 10 to 12 people so the party is splintered. Apples and oranges comparison. Independent voters are the key in this election. Odds are they vote for the Republican nominee if for no other reason to see a change, any change.

If you look another way, Trump is the only candidate left on either side who isn't a career politician. A lot of people across the country are sick and tired of politicians because politicians don't represent most of America - who knows the number, but they aren't likely to have much to do with either party, so polls may very well show nothing about them. Politicians don't like Trump because he isn't one of them and can't be counted on to play their game; that, too can be a selling point for those who are fed up. The question is how many are there and will they vote because it gives them the opportunity to reject another career politician - another wasted vote. But, hey, your numbers could be right - Dewey might win in a landslide.

Ben Shapiro was the big gun that left over the issue. Or at least the most highly visible. I saw that today and was kind of amazed.

Ben Shapiro has more intelligence and integrity in his pinky finger than anyone still employed at that place. Breitbart himself would be aghast at what it has become - taking money and positions for higher-ups in the campaign to become a Trump mouthpiece.

I don't disagree. But at the end of the day I think overall people want someone who can make things work. Not just join them in complaining it doesn't.
