I think most reasonably football savvy folks out there realize Hurd was not put in the best situations to succeed given his particular skill set. It's also unfortunate for him that he played behind a bad o line, never had a qb that was much of a downfield threat with his arm. That his qb was a bigger run threat than he was. That he was in an offensive system that really didn't fit his style. And that coaches didn't figure out how to use him and kamara properly.
I think knowing what we know about butch then and now, it'd be easier on everyone...,,,
Except...
He did quit. He did have that play against UGA in 15.
And that sucks. For us all. He ran tough. Had to get dirty yards that weren't pretty. And it ended badly for all involved.
Hope he does well at Baylor.
And I hope we do better. He moved on, we should too...probably.
