Zach Collaros and Munchie Legaux aren't pro-style QB's. Those were his QB's. Tony Pike (a statue) played for Brian Kelly.
I think we're seeing Butch's offense. Everyone keeps saying that this offense can change to suit the qb. I'm not sure I believe that. Worley wasn't exactly a DT qb and we ran basically the same offense. Only difference that he never kept the ball on the zone read. I don't think Hunter Johnson nor Trevor Lawrence is suited for this offense. I don't think either are suited for Clemson's offense either. TL will choose GA and HJ will never be a factor at Clemson. Funny how TL is choosing based on how he fits into the offense and HJ didn't/isn't.
That's sort of my point. Worley was not athletic enough to be successful in this offense with that line where Dobbs was is. I realize the line has improved but when the lines were similar Dobbs was able to make plays with his legs where Worley wasn't.Not necessarily. It's hard to say. The o-line couldn't hold long enough to give Worley time. The line dictated our offensive play. Dobbs alleviated that issue with his legs. Would be interesting to see how Worley could do with our current line. I think whether the offense is (truly) adaptable to a pocket passer is yet to be seen.
