'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

I wouldn't be against Copeland in this class if we miss on Sears. I covered him a few times last year. I plan on checking Bradley Central out a couple of times this year

"There's not much new on the Emory Jones front this week. He told Volquest.com that there's not an official date set for his commitment and that he has yet to make up his mind between Ohio State and Tennessee."

247 $$ reporting jones will make "at least" 2 more visits. Tenn then to osu for their FNL event. Not sure if it's in that order or not.

I don't have vip there. Another site leaked the info too.

After the hunter johnson thing, I'm not even concerned about the '18 class yet

Did CBJ run a different offense at Cinncy? Or are you not familiar with the year they had a pro-style QB and threw the ball very successfully?

Zach Collaros and Munchie Legaux aren't pro-style QB's. Those were his QB's. Tony Pike (a statue) played for Brian Kelly.

I think we're seeing Butch's offense. Everyone keeps saying that this offense can change to suit the qb. I'm not sure I believe that. Worley wasn't exactly a DT qb and we ran basically the same offense. Only difference that he never kept the ball on the zone read. I don't think Hunter Johnson nor Trevor Lawrence is suited for this offense. I don't think either are suited for Clemson's offense either. TL will choose GA and HJ will never be a factor at Clemson. Funny how TL is choosing based on how he fits into the offense and HJ didn't/isn't.

Not necessarily. It's hard to say. The o-line couldn't hold long enough to give Worley time. The line dictated our offensive play. Dobbs alleviated that issue with his legs. Would be interesting to see how Worley could do with our current line. I think whether the offense is (truly) adaptable to a pocket passer is yet to be seen.

That's sort of my point. Worley was not athletic enough to be successful in this offense with that line where Dobbs was is. I realize the line has improved but when the lines were similar Dobbs was able to make plays with his legs where Worley wasn't.

Back when Worley was running the show, everybody was complaining that he would never keep it making the ZR impotent because there was no threat of the qb keeping it. Everyone was saying Worley was scared to keep it when later it came out the coaches would never let him keep it. I remember in the GA game he did keep it and nobody in North America expected it and it went for big yardage.

I think we are seeing Butch's offense exactly the way he wants it. He wants to run it first and throw in some little dinks and dunks here and there. Maybe he'd like to throw it down field a little more but for reasons that have been debated here to the death he hasn't yet. Maybe this year?

I still don't think a pro-style, pocket passer fits this offense. I don't begrudge TL going to GA for this reason. HJ on the other hand makes me question his decision making ability. All JMO.
