They may be the difference maker. I guess we'll see. I think it has to do with our style of blocking than talent. They do not fire off the ball. They play on their heels and try to direct traffic which is what they are coached to do. Not trying to tear anyone down.

Being a pragmatist here and not getting caught up in emotion will get you a 'LIKE' from me.

Your "glass half full" approach is sorely lacking on this message board and some positive comment about the direction of the program is in the minority in too many cases.

I read a thread earlier here where :crazy: behind the keyboard described our season as a disaster. Wow...

I wont tell anyone how to be a fan but there are to many unrealistic expectations of the program. TN can compete with anyone in the country not named Bama. Butch took over a program at the bottom of the sec. Now we have a winning streak against every team in the East! Think about that. Bammer is winning at an unprecedented level in the History of college football. They have an all in mentality w administration, boosters, fans, police & a media too afraid to report whats going on there. To believe that the season is a disaster because of we had a poor outing w a depleted team vs a team that is winning at a level never seen in the 130 years of college football seems a little unrealistic in my opinion.

FSU maybe, but he'd not be smart to walk into Ole Miss with pending violations... why would someone this high-profile want to take a chance like that when there are clearly better options?

I dont think it has helped us as much seeings how bad our OL has played, even when healthy. We just don't consistently blow open holes for RBs like Bama, FSU or even OM.

Our guys will be better next season and will hopefully be adding a few more O line stars in the next year or so. Should definitely be a better situation for him than what we have now. FSU maybe as I said earlier, but not Ole Miss, too big of a gamble with violations looming..

I hope OM gets nailed to the wall but we all know how terrible the NCAA is. I dont know if we can count Bama completely out yet. Unless Akers has eliminated them, they at least have to be considered until NSD. Especially given how good their OL always is.

I think Cam committing to us would be a huge step in getting back to consistent national relevance. Top teams can recruit more than one major RB per year. If we can get two guys like Chandler and Akers to come in on the same year, that would speak volumes for our program in my opinion.

What are you basing your opinion on? Where has his latest visits been to? I guess he did not visit for Alabama game, which probably was a good thing since we played so bad.

A combination of what I've read about him & more importantly just a gut feeling. I thought we were still in it until about 6 weeks ago but I personally don't think so anymore mainly after we had Chandler to commit.

So we can't have more than one good running back recruit a year? Come on man. We just had two top 40 players in our backfield coming out of high school. Clearly having only one back isn't the way of the world anymore.

Listen, I hope he picks us. I was just giving my personal opinion & view buddy. I would love to see both Chandler & Akers in the backfield sharing carries or whatever for UT.

I'm just going by what I know & a gut feeling. Most have him going to Ole Miss. I have him picked for FSU. Don't think many on here would give you much confidence that he's still considering UT.

It wasn't that way before we got Chandler though. I'm too all for a 2 RB system kind of like we have now with Hurd & Kamara but it looks like Akers may not want it that way.
