'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

would love to get both obviously, but Chandler is one of a kind. He's a complete back, perfect size and perfect mechanics. Has had some of the best coaching in the southeast at MBA. He's got the raw talent but I believe he's a more refined and "smarter" back than these others, if that makes any sense.

Not to mention, the guy dominates in the classroom as well, holding a good GPA at that school is no joke. Side note: he's a josh Dobbs like guy off the field. Goes to the JV games at his school and hands out water, super humble per anyone that's had contact with him. Quiet "stoic" demeanor. I love it!

Lost in my train of thought and forgot this was an Akers thread. Not dogging him at all, just saying what I know about Ty.

Already have 2 with Trey Coleman and Ty Chandler, do we tell Coleman to look elsewhere if Akers wants in, or another high target guy, or do we take 3.

If Akers truly wanted in and Butch doesnt want 3 backs, then you have to let Coleman go. Akers and Chandler would be one of, if not the best RB duo in this class.

LSU - Proximity and replacing LF
UT - Gillespie relationship and depth chart
FSU - Graham doing a good job here and depth chart
OSU - Program appeal but distance not helping
OM - Only because they are the home state school
ALA - If Harris bolts they go further up

Damien Harris is a sophomore.

Any recruit that is still considering Georgia at this point is laughable.

Why. They have a history of great running backs, and putting those running backs in the league. About to have 2 more NFL rb draft picks next year. Not saying he should choose Georgia over his other outstanding offers or OV to them given his options. Just saying I see why he would give them a look.

This isn't the same uga staff that sent those backs to the league tho. If I was a top RB I wouldn't want chaney as my OC.

Agreed. But that program has been putting outstanding early round running backs in the NFL since I was a kid. Hasn't mattered who the HC and staff were. I'm not saying that he should go play for Kirby and Chaney, especially given what we've seen to date. Just saying if getting to the NFL is important to a top flight running back like Akers, which I assume it is, at face value, that's a major selling point for UGA.

Until he proves it, I stand by what I said. Who knows how good Patterson will be. He could suck for all we know. Or he could make Chad Kelly look like a joke. Only time will tell.

That comment works both ways though. If you say, "Who knows how good Patterson will be?", how can you definitively say the offense won't be as good? You've just effectively admitted you don't know.

Does UT have a good shot?

"They feel like they are in it and have a legit shot. I think they are, too.

Like you noted, he and Gillespie are tight.

But, Akers has done a good job of keeping things close so I'm not sure who has the edge. FSU has felt good at times. Bama being in it again is interesting, but man they are loaded.

I've never thought he ends up at Ole Miss and that's based on a few things."

The Ole Miss recruiting class is really bad and they had a pair of decommitments the other day. The NCAA stuff is catching up to them it looks like. I don't think Akers will go there unless they turn the class around as a whole and the NCAA stuff blows over a bit.

What does this have to do with me? I bet you're talking about summarizing information from VIP access. I'm not going there ok. Think whatever you want but you're being disrespectful by puling my name into it buddy.

He's saying this is how you properly contribute to the recruiting forum, by listing quotes from what true insiders have to say on the matter. None of this "In my opinion "this" will happen", or just pure speculation on what you think a kid will do or not do. He was implying you should take notes, not necessarily being disrespectful. Don't be so touchy.
