'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

KippLAdams: Official visit battle for 5-star RB Cam Akers just got more crowded. #Vols #LSU #FSU #Buckeyes #Dawgs #OleMiss fighting for three spots.

With Najee Harris sniffing Harbough's hindquarters, I thought Bama would still be in this.

I'd say Bama is still in this. Keep in mind, Kipp's tweet was referring to the 3 remaining official visits he has left. The two he's already scheduled? Alabama this Saturday and Michigan in November.

Thought I saw where he was supposed to visit as well. I hope he did, but the circumstances were not good-- hopefully he concentrated on his position and saw we will need him next year...

It is my understanding that Cam Akers was in Knoxville this weekend and has said he will be back on an official visit.

Hopefully he wasn't too thrown off about the game last week... We really need this kid and he and Chandler would be a combo for the ages....

The Najee Harris situation could be the biggest deciding factor with Akers. If Harris goes somewhere else, Akers may just commit to Bama on the spot. However, if he stays then who knows.

I dont think it has helped us as much seeings how bad our OL has played, even when healthy. We just don't consistently blow open holes for RBs like Bama, FSU or even OM.

Don't know if fsu can blow holes open.

Not sure if we are healthy. Kamara looked real good versus am. Hurd just needs a huge hole and a smaller back works better for us. Please nobody think im starting a Hurd debate, bc I'm not.

Hurd will be great in the NFL. You're right, we just haven't had the personnel to help him up front

Agree. Hurd is at a disadvantage because of our line and delayed runs.

What would he be like in a pro style or with AL's line, much better. Great pass catcher for a RB too.

They are in shotgun formation too. The eye is even out of vogue in the NFL.

In my opinion, Kamara will end up being the best RB of the two in the NFL because of his versatility.

I think this one still has a lot of moving parts. I still think that we are in it, though, I agree he is likely to end up somewhere else. You can't ever count Butch out, though.

Agree. I would not want to run behind our Oline for the next four years if I were him.

You may not know it, but players graduate and we get new ones. I imagine running behind Trey and the Mays brothers (among others) would be pretty awesome. But then I'm not here tearing down the program every day.
