'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

Why can't Akers and Chandler both be elite?

Akers burst in camps was elite versus elite prospects. He's a great talent who can catch very well out of the backfield. I hope we get both and with how our RBs look a kid can't say a thing about any other school using RBs better.

It'd almost be like having Hurd, Kamara, and Kelly...

Haha touche. I guess I was thinking about since we have only just now seen what Kelly has to offer and Debord hasn't used all three (JK, AK, and Hurd) throughout the season. I think Kelly needed a little time to adjust to playing in college being somewhat undersized and not quite as talented as Hurd and Kamara were coming out of high school. But since I would assume Kelly is the "starter" next year (considering Hurd and AK go pro), Debord would know the talent he has coming in if we land Chandler and Cam Akers; then he can make a game plan for all of them.

Side note: any time I think about Hurd and Kamara going pro I think "welllll maybe one of them would stick around like Sutton and JRM did". But I stop myself: Sutton and JRM came back because they had been here since Butch arrived on campus (Sutton one year after but you get it). They both felt like they had unfinished business and that we had a real shot to do something special, and wanted to come back throwing caution to the wind regarding injury. I think they both understood that this team NEEDED them. Unfortunately we know how that situation panned out.

For Hurd and Kamara, I think there wouldn't be any feeling of "Oh I need to stay because if I go then they wont have any running backs". We'll be in good hands next year, even if we only get Chandler. This was kind of a random post, really just talking myself out of the idea that Hurd and Kamara would come back for their last year.

Sutton and JRM were in the same recruiting class.

I know he is visiting this weekend, but it is an unofficial visit, so I was wondering if he had already used his O.V. here? Also, how many times has he visited?

Ole Miss has 6 rush attempts by running backs all half and the game has been close with OM leading a lot. Why would a RB consider them?
