'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

I used to dunk on fools all the time after school on the playground. I skyed on em like Jordan. I'd come down the lane, they be like "Get out the way, that train don't ever stop." Slam on a few cats, they'd start crying, call their mom to calm them down and pick them up. The point I'm making is, eventually they got over me throwing down the hardest dunks you ever seen. So Jauan should have no time getting over that weak stuff

Last time Wu dunked...

I am failing to see how being on the same level as those QBs and being a better athlete than them somehow equates to being a lesser QB.

Lol I didn't think it was that hard.

He couldn't throw it as well as them, which is one of the quarterback's priorities.

You said they were on the "same level of passing".

I feel like Bruin arguing over something so nit-picky. :p

wow! Glad you aren't a talent evaluator on our staff. Numbers aren't everything. Siegel throws it a bunch so naturally he would have more yards. There are NO situations that Crane is a better QB than JJ.

I also saw two Blackman games this year and was not impressed at all with Jennings at QB. He is an athlete but Moore of a naia level QB.

All of these people that have seen a whole TWO games have determined he is not a QB amaze me!!! You're right. Two whole games is PLENTY to judge a guys future. I guess we shouldn't take about a dozen major college coaches' opinions (including our beloved QB guru Coach Cut) that think he is QB.

46.5% Completion percentage is not very good, and he threw 3 picks vs Maryville... In the first half. He isn't a good high school QB. He's a phenomenal high school football player. There's a slight difference.

46.5 isn't very good, I agree with you. However, have you gone back to the film and seen how many drops he had this year? Didn't think so. Yes, he had 3 int's against Maryville. He only had 5 in the previous 13 games. 8 ints in 14 games works out to a little more than half a pick per game. Before the Maryville game it was 1 pick every 3 games. And again, no offense, but I'll take my own eyes watching him every game (not just 2), plus the opinion of people who get paid millions of dollars to evaluate their ability!

Also, since we're going to show him getting dunked on, here's a good one for him.

Nothing wrong with promoting someone you like from your home school. Its another matter suggesting that person to play QB for a big time SEC program. How these guys get rated by rivals is beyond me. If UT has to settle for a mediocre high school QB we will never get back to where the Vols belong. No offense, just look at his numbers.

Actually I made that assessment during warm-ups. Watching him throw. There was really no need to see him play.

I'm not the one doing the promoting....defending, yes promoting no. I'll let the MAJOR college programs and coaches that DO WANT him at QB to promote for me.

Recruiters flocking to Jauan Jennings | NFANation - The official news source for the National Football Academies

"College recruiters are obviously impressed with Jennings’ work ethic, as well as his skill at quarterback. Tennessee and Vanderbilt extended early scholarship offers, but both schools initially wanted Jennings to play safety. As he’s sparked the Blaze’s offense with his passing and running ability, Jennings has attracted interest from big-time schools around the nation.

Ohio State offered Jennings a scholarship to play quarterback in late August, and Florida State, Auburn, Nebraska, Northwestern, Mississippi and Mississippi State are the latest schools to extend offers. Duke, New Mexico State and Middle Tennessee State made earlier offers. All of the attention can be distracting, but Jennings has kept his focus on helping Blackman win football games."

So you can just look at a kid during warm-ups and decide? WOW!!!! You need to put your resume in with every program in America. I'm sure they would all love to have somebody with your expertise!

First year playing QB. The tools are there.

You keep going back to this but you need to remember the lingo involved in recruiting. If you think Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida State would accept a commitment from him as a QB-only at this point in his recruitment then you are obviously too close to the situation to be looking at it objectively. Same way that Matt Williams has an 'offer' from UT right now.

I do know that UT would accept a commitment from him right now. Can't speak for the rest of the schools. And if you think there is any similarity in the situations between Jauan and Matt you are the one that needs objectivity lessons.

^Must be Rod Wilks :)

So it was his first year as QB this past season? Let's see how he develops next year. Just get him in Orange and figure it out later. He's obviously an athlete.
