that's one of the most used comments by vol fans that isn't close to being accurate. you guys need a new phrase that is backed up by fact because that isn't.

Year in and year out, UGA has more talent than anyone in the league (excluding bama). When was uga's last conference title? That's my new phrase that's backed up by fact.

yep UGA can, but he is an instate kid which means the vols must sign him up. they can't let that type of talent leave the state.

There's some truth to this statement. But, TN isn't like AL, FL, LA, etc. The best in-state talent are exposed to many different schools early on, and we haven't exactly been successful over the past 7 years. It's like a broken record on here, but kids in Memphis and Nashville, where the large majority of the state's talent is located, are exposed to many other SEC schools, not just UT.

Until we become successful again, I think it's inevitable that UT fans/coaches will have to deal with a few great athletes going out of state.

To be honest, I'd much rather lose a WR to an out of state program than a LB/DL, at this point. Just my opinion. I would love Malone to be a Vol, but I wouldn't be crushed if he wasn't.

UGA can have Malone if we can have Mouhon, Smith, Green, Truitt, Paulk, Freeman, McDowell, the Berry's, and Brown.

I'll take a 10 for 1 trade any day.

A verbal from T. Kelly went a long way in trying to gain a commitment from Malone. Getting a commitment from Gaulden will go a much loooooongerrrrrr way in gaining a commitment from Malone.

Define success. I would say 12 in the final BCS poll and a trip to the SEC championship game in 2007 was a form of success. Last I checked 2006 and 2007 were in that 7 year window you referenced.

both uga and the vols have won the same number of national titles in the past 33 years. nope not better..

Didn't realize 33 years was the cutoff point. You could change that span of time to the entire history of UGA's program. Same cant be said for Tennessee.

The vol's won their title in 1998.. both titles are in the past.. however you are correct UGA has zero bcs titles. I can't argue that.

Right. I just think a BCS title is more relevant. The current set-up to get to the NC game is much more difficult.

But, you won't see me harp too much on our '98 title. We've had literally a fraction of success UGA has had the past 7 years.

Completely agree with you there. The current setup does make it much more difficult and we do have an actual champion.

2005...

Look, I'm a Dawg fan and enjoy reading the recruiting posts here because sometimes we're going after the same guys and it's refreshing to get some news on some of these kids I might not get on an UGA sight. I RARELY post here and I've never tried to antagonize any Vols here because this is a Vol board and I get that.

I will say that every team that's won the SEC since UGA won it in 2005 has been more talented than UGA. Last year was probably the best team of players we've had since 2005 and we were pretty close to Bama position by position. I know in my heart that we were a more talented team than ND.

I get that you may have been caught up in the moment but your post really doesn't have much "fact" to it.
