Richt has proven he can survive a season like that. Miles could. Muschamp might not be able to. And I think Chizik would. Every school who thinks they're worth anything would "consider it."

Dooley would be fired. Maybe you're a little too close to the program to see that.

I agree that Dooley is likely gone if we go 6-6, which is easily attainable with our roster and schedule this year. I guess I don't consider that being on the hot seat because it's not going to be that difficult to surpass.

Exactly. I doubt we'll go 6-6, I'm not saying we will. I'd put money on about 9 wins, give or take.

My point is simply that Dooley is on the hotseat until he proves that he deserves to be here. (Which should happen this year.)

Richt survived going 6-7 because he has a proven history of winning at the highest level. There was also a new AD that was not going to fire Richt without first giving him an opportunity to fix the problems and turn the program around. But, CMR would not survive if he goes 6-6 again.

I wouldn't even say 6-6 means he is gone. Its a bold statement to blanket a decision based up record alone and nothing else. If JH, DR, TB, CP, 3 OL, 2 RBs, and 3 DBs all go down then I think your tune changes. Again, I'm not saying he'd survive 6-6 all things held constant. He's not on the "hot seat" any more than any coach in the country.

Oh hell no. I'm a DD supporter, but if he goes 6-6 with OUR schedule he has to go. All of these recruits that we're losing out on don't care why we went 5-7 last year. We can't throw away two classes because of coaching doubts. DD has to produce this year or he's got to go.

Even if our entire team gets unfortunate injuries and all games we lose were close despite using our 2nd teamers?

I understand what you're saying. But the perception is that DD can't get the job done. This is in part due to his record, and in part due to the whining from a vocal part of the fan base. I think he can get the job done, but if he doesn't, we have to make a change. Hart will need to write a big check until we get our Saban. We'll need a big enough name that people will turn out at the airport and 80,000 will show up for the O&W game. I hope we have a monster year and that none of this happens. But if he goes 6-6, a change will have to be made in order to change the perception about this program.

if you want to change the perception about this program..after ut blasts fla...pray that Hart gives DD and extended contract ...with all that he has done to rebuild this program from nothing and with the recruits he's brought in..the program is heading in the right direction...by extending his contract it shuts up the "Hot Seat" crap that every coach across america is using with these recruits we want...also gives this program leverage with recruits going into national signing day...

Update on 247 if anybody can summarize. Rucker said hatcher had some "interesting" comments about Tennessee.

Hatcher needs to get away from kiffie's jackboots out west. Article on SN suggests that some recruits were not to "pleased" with the bullish antics of kiffies recruits.

I hope it works out that way. This program will turn around a lot faster and cheaper with DD having success. But I don't think they can extend him unless he's undefeated after the Fla game. I really hope we have a good start.

I went extreme to prove a point. There no way 6-6 alone gets him canned. Its about opportunity and if injuries get in the way of that opportunity then its hard to use it against him. You have nothing but baseless assumption behind your declaration. No one is saying Dooley needs this or that or he is gone outside of the fans. So stop this "he is on the hotseat" bull****
