'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

With the down spiral of AU, if UT holds on to CDD it benefit from AU's lack of success on the field. If Lawson goes anywhere besides AU it will be UT, but only if CDD and staff are there. Lawson really likes Sal, but if the staff is replaced I think it allows someone else to come in and get him.

If this is true it starts to paint the real picture down at AU.

Mike Blakeley left AU team per Rick Karle of Fox 6 in Bham.

With regard to Lawson, you may be correct. Why leave his first school choice to go to his second choice school when both have new coaches?

I think it is possible, perhaps likely, that some current AU players leave. However, Muschamp did not release Blakely without cause. Blakely is a very talented running back, but he was a head case before he ever took the practice field last Spring.

One more note and I know it has little value coming from an UA fan, but UT has 4 losses. Two of them to the current #1 and #2 in the country. Two more to the current #11 and #12 team in the country. Now I do think UA played one of its better games of the season last night but I also thought UT did not. Meaning against the other 3 I thought UT was maybe 1 play away from taking all 3 games. Each of those 3 games UT had either a catchable ball that was not or something that came at a time that UT could have changed the outcome of the game with the other team on the ropes fending off UT.

I also believe UT can beat USC next weekend. They are coming off back to back losses in a season they were being projected to contend for it all and just 2 weeks ago were ranked as one of the best in the country. They have a pretty good push rush but their LBs and DBs are not that great as they have just found out and been very exposed. I believe CP will have a field day against them.

UT still has a shot finish this season off 7-5 heading to a bowl game and benefit from other programs might not doing as well and pulling in a top 10 recruiting class.:hi:

Thanks for the optimism. Bray hates pressure in the back field. South Carolina brings it. We can win, but I am not optimistic

No way.
We can not stop the run and every QB we have faced regardless of how average they are, has looked like an all-American.

we turned a Mississippi State's QB, 50% passer, into Peyton Manning

Our secondary is very weak outside of McNeil, who is making freshman mistakes. They can't cover or tackle. I have to say, I haven't seen a weaker Tennessee secondary in my lifetime.

Losing Randolph hurt, imagine if this team didn't have the loses of JJ, Myles, or darick. We would be playing better on offense and def

Not sure about that. Talent and scheme only get you so far. This team would still find a way to lose. There is no attention to detail with this staff.

USC is one deminsional and because of it have dropped 2 games. They run 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and when Shaw gets pressured he makes alot of errors.

UTs running game look good without Neal and the OL opened up some holes. And yes Bray makes mistakes but it does not help when CP and Hunter drop balls. Hunter dropped a TD last night.

Again in my opinion if UT brings their best game they beat USC.

Neither Dooley nor our DCs have ever been able to contain a DT QB. I'm always worried about these games.

10/21/12, 7:22 AM According to one AU source, RB Mike Blakely and safety Erique Florence have quit the Tigers football team. Chizik says both have injuries.

I'm guessing Florence right now wishes he had signed with USC.

I agree with you. We've played some quality QBs, but they all had their best days against UT. This is what makes me think November will be a hard slog, let alone USC. I still think 4-0 in November, but those games are going to be tough and close, i fear.

The first step for any staff is to win the games your are suppose to first and than steal a win or 2 from the teams you should not. Not saying UT could not beat the teams they have lost to but UT was underdogs in every one of those games. UT has beaten the teams it is suppose to.

And in the games UT lost I saw several players never give up even in the end. Unlike AU who seems not to only have players give up in games but leave the team.

Agreed. I feel like this team, despite the huge disadvantages that have been presented them for the last 3 weeks, have continually played hard. I have been particularly proud of our boys for that.

Florida's left tackle manhandled Clowney. Hopefully Tiny can do the same.

Edit: Okay, okay, didn't see much of the game, but relative to what he did in the UGA game, Clowney was manhandled Saturday.

I think his primary motivation was to transfer from a pro-style offense, which UF switched after he commited, to a spread offense for which AU was under Malzahn.
