'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Clowney was a monster. They adjusted their blocking assignments to chip him as much as possible to give the OT a better shot at handling him. It worked better for them in the second half, especially after Clowney and the rest of the D got tired.

There is plenty of time to recoup our chances on Lawson and many other recruits once the head coach thing is finalized.

I think this quote from an Auburn commit (Arshad Jackson) represents how the majority of recruits feel about schools for whom they commit/favor vis-a-vis season record/coaching uncertainty.

"On one side, the record bothers me because it's a losing record. It's hard. Dealing with rumors is tough," he said. "But at the same time, we have a great class coming in and we have a chance to change everything around."

I4J

If Dooley is gone, what impact on recruiting do you think it will have?

i think we'd lose a few guys but its not like we had a top tier class to begin with.

IMO, if you feel like your not moving in the right direction, damn a one recruiting class, cut your losses and sacrifice that for Ws in the short and long term

Yes but he decommitted and did not live by those words.

I will disagree here. Only because if UT does not bring in a staff considered well aboce CDD and current staff the short term will not be an option.

Scenario 1:

CDD beats USC and finishes 8-4. UT brings in a top 10 or higher class. Lets for fun just say Lawson, Green, Jackson, Cox, and White along with a few more names. Now UT has some more depth next year. Also him staying helps retain a few juniors who maybe could jump early.

Scenario 2:

CDD is fired and staff overhaul. Another staff comes in and maybe not the hire UT fans want but solid. Any top names UT may have been in it for like Green, Lawson, White, Jackson, and Cox all commit elsewhere. Others maybe already committed decommit. Also players like CP, Bray, Couch, Smith, and James jump early for the NFL. It does not matter what round if they can get drafted if staying under a new staff means maybe their role changes. What do they have to lose at that point.

Again just saying but if CDD is fired and chance he will be it may take 3 or 4 years for UT to be back. So the real question is do you wait for a new staff to work the magic and hope they can in 3 or 4 years or do you give CDD longer to try and improve?

regardless, I could care less about One recruiting class when it comes to the short term and long term future of the program. ADs dont care either.

If you can go in a better direction, you do it.

Dude I think Saban and Dooley could've traded teams Saturday and UT would've blown Bama out just from coaching. I think the gap is that large from a coaching standpoint. I think Dooley can coach as well as Tommy Bowden did at Clemson. He'll waste talent year after year.

So you blame coaching on Bray throwing to Mosley who happened to be the only player within 10yds of the pass, or everytime J Hunter or CP drop a ball if caught would be a TD?

TW will you agree there is a 3rd scenario?

Scenario 3:

We hire someone that is a home run. Not saying a name but just say it is a homerun. He does intend to keep CJG and maybe CDH (and at a lesser extent the GA from Hutch CC). We sign T. Johnson, North, Green, White, Lawson, maybe Gray and Yanni. Maybe if they can pull back Trooper to be the WR coach for the new scheme. We may bring in a suprise or two (if hell froze over and we could sneak R Foster if TT came back would be amazing and no I am not drunk today!)....along with the future is bright with.........Berry and TKjr

Are you disagreeing that their is a drastic (understatement) difference in coaching staffs?

Depending on who is brought in the class may actually get better.

Yes I do think 3 is possible but who is out there and available is the question for that homerun. Possible but does not seem like a lot of options there.

Hahahaha oh wow. You want to tell me about my team now huh? Bama is using less firepower on offense better than we are. Cooper having more receiving yards than Hunter and Patterson combined is a joke. Bama runs WR screens. Do we run them with as athletic an offense as there is in the country? No and CP is the most explosive guy in the conference easily. Pig Howard is another weapon but we run RB screens to #19 when the defense is looking for it huh. Dude don't come over here trying to tell me about my team. The WRs wouldn't drop those balls with a coach that won't play the radio with them. Bray had a mishap with the RB on that pick so stop the BS.

No I am not but it woul dbe hard for any staff to win big games if the big players do not bring their A game. And the difference between Saban and Dooley is Saban can bench a starter and not have a real drop off but Dooley can not.

Ok but Bray is prone every time he gets pressured to throw INTs or is there mishaps on all 9 INTs this season. And discussing WRs I know your opinion on UAs WRs which is whatever and you also said if UT could force AJ to have to throw the ball UA had very little chance. Just saying.

BTW your DL stepped up last night and your running game without Neal looked very goos. I still think depth in the trenches is an issue for UT in big games but your starting D went toe to toe with our OL.:hi:

So in what games do Saban's best players not perform? They are few and far between. There's a reason why, because he doesn't play that BS. Muschamp doesn't either down at Florida. Nor does Les Miles. The good coaches don't run around holding players hands all day. What rumors have that Dooley was doing for Da'Rick was ridiculous and shouldn't have been tolerated at any point.

You honestly think that if we just switched the coaches around yesterday, with the same exact rosters, that UT would have blown out Alabama?
