'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Lawson has apparently canceled every single trip he had "planned" to take. That does not scream, "dying to flip to UT", IMO

I think Lawson is a strong, silent type of recruit. He is a badass on the field and strives to prove himself on every play. But he is not a player that enjoys the thrill or notoriety of recruiting that some 5-star guys thrive upon. He previously indicated that he did not plan to take any visits. The fact that he planned one to UT indicates something important to me. If AU falls out of his plans and if UT gives him a reason, UT will be the primary alternative for him.

Dude I think Saban and Dooley could've traded teams Saturday and UT would've blown Bama out just from coaching. I think the gap is that large from a coaching standpoint. I think Dooley can coach as well as Tommy Bowden did at Clemson. He'll waste talent year after year.

I hate to agree with you and I4Jay but I agree 100 percent my family is filled with UT, Bama, and UGA fans and every single one agree Dooley is over his head to coach in the SEC. I like Dooley a lot but he is not good enough. I will sacrifice one class with the talent we have. Petrino had Arky playing damn good football with in my opinion a lot less talent

Liner on his commitment and what he thinks aboout some other AU commits. The report is from Rivals.

"I've always been an Auburn fan. They are going to struggle, every team has that type of year sometimes," said Liner. "Auburn, that's my home."

Dee Liner broke his media silence expressing his loyalty to Auburn. Liner understands overcoming adversity and hurdles that arise. Liner's troubles this summer were well documented, and he missed the first game of his senior season due to suspension.

Still, Liner believes he learned from his mistakes and is ready to repay Auburn's display of loyalty with a display of his own. "Auburn stuck with me when I made a couple of bad choices, they stuck with me. So I'm going to stick with them." Liner said.

"Despite Auburn's rocky season, its No. 9 ranked recruiting class has remained intact to date. Liner is proud of that fact. He sees himself as a leader of the 2013 class and after Foster's strong words last week, Liner wanted his voice heard.

"I talk to my fellow commits all the time," Liner said. "I talk to Reuben, Earnest (Robinson), Trey (Johnson), Carl (Lawson), Jeremy (Johnson), all of them. We are sticking together and we are a team. The main thing we talk about is staying focused. People talk bad about Auburn, but we can't listen to that. We stay strong and loyal to each other."

Strong talk. I don't see any chance it comes true. No way they're all that loyal.

That is impressive I know some of our committs have said that stuff like Miles, and Reeves-Maybin, and Sanders, but I would like to here from some of these other guys too like Vereen, Campbell, Goeas, Ferguson, Bradley etc.

Last week Lawson had six tackles (5 solo), one tackle-for-loss and one sack in a 47-30 loss to Lassiter. On the season, Lawson has 49 tackles (31 solo), seven tackles-for-loss, 17 sacks and eight quarterback hurries.

I am not sure where Lawson ends up and I believe UT has a great shot at getting him. But remember everybody is assuming that Lawson is looking at UT because of the current situation at AU, but Lawson looking over the summer before the season starts. He mentioned UT several times and his trainer is in his ear about UT, who happens to be a former UT player.

So remember AU having a bad season and maybe replacing the coaches is the reason it just helps a lot more, which even bodes better for UT.:hi:

UT is in the same sad situation coaching wise as is Auburn so i would not consider Lawson any where close to visiting UT must less signing with them.Fact is if he goes anywhere other than Auburn ,it is likely to be to Florida.

I think FSU over UF because I have heard they are making a strong push.

Nope the NCAA already said back in the summer that even if Pruitt steered Paige to transfer it was not a violation. The whole investigation is the 2 guys at the school violated several federal and state laws. It has nothing to do with UA except when he went off named Pruitt who as mentioned did nothing wrong but his rant included private info about a student.

The interesting part is the AD that caused the investigation is being looked at for possibly steering players to LSU since he is an LSU alum and booster.

Thanks for clarifying. With all due respect, I have a question on a different topic for you. How would Tide fans feel if the reverse happened and an AU guy similar to this reporter (to the left) was named the recruiting analyst for al.com? Photo is reportedly taken fairly recently.

Depends which UA fans you are talking about. The crazies would probably not be happy. Than the rational ones would be like no big deal because none of them pay attention to al.com that much. I assume the same on your side.

al.com lost most of its creditability with Scarbinsky.

You're right, al.com is skewing toward TMZ with their new format. Also, as someone on here previously indicated, you and I obviously don't live in Alabama.

Reading some AU boards and it seems there is a push by some from within to get Petrino. The same group that tried to get him in the past, but the new powers are opposed and I see Jimbo Fisher is their option. Also saw Strong mentioned as well.

Jimbo would be an interesting hire and his staff does very well recruiting in SEC country. Again not sure how valid but saw it on some AU boards. And those coaches would make sense. Also it will be interesting to see the dominoes fall and how quickly. AU, UT, Ark, and UK might all be replacing their staff and if so it may be a race to see who gets who first.

Why would Jimbo Fisher leave FSU for Auburn? Seems like a stupid move...unless he wants to coach in the SEC. I would be curious if we let DD go, if Kentucky might try to go after him. I say this, because DD is a very good recruiter and he could probably bring in some talent that's better than what is on that roster. It's just a thought. I wouldn't be surprised to see Willie Taggart go to Kentucky, if he doesn't get a bigger gig.

Rumor is that FSU has not followed up on some faccility upgrades that they had promised and Fisher is not happy

Jimbo would be a great hire for AU. With UF coming back it will hurt FSU on the recruiting trail instate and they always seem to come up short with a loss in conference. Not saying he would come but it would make AU dangerous. One of the best recruiting staffs moving to AU in the SEC would make things real interesting in the SEC and AL. UA and AU both are having to deal with them instate. It would be better than Petrino and an upgrade for Jimbo.

I agree on CDD sticking around, plus I doubt UT will jump quickly if they were to replace him. I think they will try and find the perfect fit for the program no matter how long it took. I think if CDD beats USC and/or gets to a bowl game he gets another year. Hart maybe new to UT but him and CDD are friends.JMO

Change "some" to "majority" for Petrino, reverse Strong and Jimbo preference, and you have have it about right.
