'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

yeah a few good sources have said he is a silent commit but i doubt many bama fans really feel its a done deal especially after what happened with gunner kiel last year. Saban and company are not going to stop commits, silent or not, from taking visits, if thats was the case then you wouldnt have over half of the class still taking visits. Most bama fans i talked to that really know the game of football want him to be a part of the class but they also dont wont to risk losing the other 2 commits who are considered to be better pure backs, they talk about it on the other sites to educate the fans that really dont know the game as well, so im sure if they miss out on henry it wont be a meltdown like some people think it will be, not when u have to other stud backs in the fold.

Dont know who your sources are, but I just texted DH a couple of days ago to see how he was doing since I hadn't talked to him in a good minute. He told me he's "not commmited nowhere yet". I didn't ask him too much about colleges but he said "Bama is where it's at right now".

Extremely contagious Gonaria outbreak?

Yeah. I'd stay away from there if I were you.

and bamas where itll be for the next 3 years before he sees a touch.

he will come here and be a star. once the season starts this team will send a message that you won't have tennessee to kick around anymore. our fanbase will be reunited with pride and joy for our team... and neyland will be rocking again. henry doesn't want to go to bama and serve more value to them as a lb than a rb.. if he comes to ut he could be the star tailback of an elite program that again rose from the ashes. have faith please, for we are still tennessee

not in those exact words but he said that about bama publicly in may, before he decommitted. so thats no secret. as far as him being committed silently, we will just have to wait and see

If 'heavy lean' and 'silent' are the same thing then I would venture to say he is a 'silent' :)

They definitely cant stop recruits from taking visits but he doesnt like it a bit, thats very obvious. So many committs have said the past few yrs they would take visits and have come back later and didnt take them. So obviously Saban threatened or said something to them about taking visits. No idea why anyone can be intimidated by Saban but these some of the massive kids are. I would tell him im taking my visits no matter what you think. So he definitely does not approve of committs taking visits. But back to Henry I highly doubt he is a silent and hopefully Sentimore telling him how Saban really is about lying about position changes shows Henry that he will definitely play RB at UT and play early. At Alabama he definitely wont play RB early because of depth nor get the reps at RB that he would at UT. Plus the minute that he steps foot in Tuscalooser he could and would probably be moved to Defense. Surely he realizes this and im betting he does and ends up a Vol.JMO..

Lol.. Exactly and thats if he ever touch's the ball on the offensive side of the ball. Definitely can see him being a Vol soon!..Crossing fingers. Have posted before he is my 3rd choice behind Green and Kamara and possibly Turman as well but dont think we get Green ( Hope I'M Wrong) or Turman. So im reslly hoping we get Kamara then Henry after him.

I agree about reps and playing time between UA and UT. But look at when Sentimore was at UA and tell me one player that was lied to about where he would play and did not get that chance. Because it is great that someone with 2nd or 3rd hand knowledge can make that assumption but please show me where it has happen. Because 1st I doubt Sentimore has told actually told him that. I do believe Sentimore has warned him about what is expected and you will not get a 2nd chance at UA. Like what happens when you fire off fireworks in a dorm.

B Sims who wanted to play QB but also knew that is not the main position UA was recruiting him at has competed every spring and every fall camp at QB. And right now looks to be the #2 QB going into the season. B Calloway is a 2011 recruit. Sentimore was not on the team last fall. But even Calloway got a shot most of the fall at RB and did not pan out. They they even tried him at LB which he was rated as a 5 star coming out of HS for and that did not work out. Last spring and this fall he is now playing FB/HB.

I just keep hearing this recruiting pitch that Saban will lie to you about where you will play and it always changes once you arrive. You guys are getting like the Romney/Obama ads with no actual truth in them. So please give me an example of just one recruit while Sentimore was at UA that was promised a specific position and once he got there never got a shot. Because I doubt it has happened, which means if Sentimore is telling Henry that it is probably hurting UT's chances even more. Because all Henry has to do is look at the player he is talking about and will see the truth.

im sure most coaches dont wont their commit visiting elsewhere, they are just not going to say it publicly. Saban told him if he didnt pan out in 2 years a position change could happen, he was quoted as saying that.

Im sure he did say that. Its doubtful he would get many touch's at RB his first few yrs anyway. So he tells him after that he is best suited at LB. But if he chooses UT he will get his touch's and early PT probably immediately. Its definitely a no brainer for him if he wants to play early. If he wants to
ride the bench but probably watch his team be in National Championship chances every year then go to Al. But hopefully within a few years we can be in those talks as well. And i said Hopefully!

If he makes a move to LB after 2 years he will never see the field at UA. He will be recruited over at LB. But again I have never seen him mentioned as a LB for UA except by rival fans. If he moves to any position beside RB at UA it will be HB/TE. Assuming he picks UA.

Let's have a really good season and land both Henry and Green. Then the best man wins the starter role as a soph unless he can beat out Neal/Lane early on.

If Henry is smart, he''ll choose the Vols!

Of course I have no way of knowing this as fact, but I suspect that deep down inside Henry is rooting for the Vols to have a very good season. I believe he would rather be at Tennessee than Alabama because of the depth chart, but he wants to see how we do this year and he especially wants to see improvement in the run blocking by the O-Line.

I still think Henry and Kamara could end up as Vols on NSD although there is also a chance we could get D Green and Kamara instead.

This thread slowed down considerably all of a sudden. Didn't TW say that he was setting up a public announcement for this week or something?

i dont think he is a bama lock. I do feel he has given bama fans reasons to be very confident.

Didn't you or TW say that he was trying to set up a public announcement for this week or next? Is this still happening or not?
