'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

Remember if he does not announce soon and takes OVs, he has stated he will visit UT for the UF game and visit UA the next weekend for his final OV. So his announcement if not soon will happen at the end of Sept not the 3rd week.

He could watch us beat UF, committ to UT and cancel his visit to Tusc. Living an HR from Tuscaloosa if i was a prospect Tuscaloosa isnt a trip I would take for just a free visit. Definitely more fun places to go see if your just doing a free trip.

IMHO, sounds like the kid is parrotting negative recruiting from other coaches. Winning will fix it.

Honestly I cant get mad, when you lose to UK in football it truely doesnt get any worse than that.

Losing to Wyoming is worse.

Losing to memphis to get knocked out of a NC game is very much worse!

Getting your arse handled by a mediocre ole miss team is at least As bad.

But he has already taken many a free trip to TTown oon his dime so he must like it. For a 17 or 18 yo who can not drink and just wants to see good football I would wager that TTown is a very popular destination this fall. If going for the surroundings outside of football just to visit I doubt and SEC town is the likely destination for any recruit. I have been to 9 of the 14 so can not speak for them all but I bet most could find 5 better destinations. Just saying

My brother was a walk on and got to dress out for the Wyoming game, and I sat 7 rows from the field on the tunnel, and that game was a living nightmare! My brother said that Phil lit into them at halftime worse than any other time before!

Thats exactly why my list of 5 officials if i was going to committ to TN did not involve any other SEC schools. Atleast Knoxville has the Mountains close, which some kids like and others dont. Outside of maybe the grove i wouldnt pick any SEC venues to just take a free something to do visit. Auburn is nice but very small town-ish. Tuscaloosa is a sh&thole with nothing to do and nothing even close. Even Alabama's better games this year is on the road. Michigan is away, UT, LSU and Arky is away.

If you truly believe Hatcher picked USC because of that UK game I don't know what to tell you.

Many have already made many comments that enforced what my response to you actually meant, and yes, you COMPLETELY missed my point. Hatcher didn't choose us right now because of negative recruiting, and the snakes in Cali had him convinced that DD is on his way out the door. The one game deal that you are referring to is not why he chose USC. He just threw that in there, probably because the snakes told him too...in order to rub some salt into the wound. Hatcher committed to USC to save his spot in the class, so that if we don't perform as expected this year and DD does get the boot, then he already has a spot at his 2nd choice. I wasn't even referring to that UK game. I am referring to the Florida game and the fact that Henry will most likely be there. The Florida game will hopefully be the culmination of 3 wins with a 4th win occurring the following week against Akron. I really think that Hart wants to kick this hot seat talk to the curb, and if we can start off 4-0, then he may announce a contract extension to kill the talk. This will help recruiting tremendously...more so in 2014, but some in 2013. If DD is safe and Henry still hasn't committed, then I would really like our chances with him. I would also like our chances with Hatcher, that is as long as the coaches still want him with some of the comments he said about us in his post-announcement interview...that may have rubbed the coaches the wrong way like it did our fans. Maybe this makes a little more sense to you.

If we go 4-0 I could see the chatter of an extension , but I would imagine it would be something done pretty delicately .

The speech apparently didn't help

I agree, just another reason that it was time for a change. It's bad when you're losing to a team like that and you can't fire your players up enough to pull out the victory. I was at the game too. It was horrible. All around, flat out HORRIBLE football. Lowest point as a Vol fan for me.

After his game last night he said he will visit UT for the FL game on the 22nd. Also wants to announce on the 28th on ESPN during his nationaly televised HS game. Will take OV to UA on the 29th.

One more note. He stated that him and L Tunsil will play at the same school for their college ball.

With these comments, it'll be Bama. Why would you commit to TN and announce it the day before your OV to Bama? Just wants to go watch the TN-UF game...he'll probably be pulling for the Gators, since it sounds like he grew up a fan. His decision is reinforced by the 2nd bolded comment...Tunsil isn't even interested in TN...I don't think. TW, I thought Georgia led for Tunsil. What do you know about his recruitment?

With the Tunsil comment, it reinforces my notion that UGA is still quietly in the middle of the Henry recruitment. Having him end up in Athens when it is all said and done will not suprise me one bit.

I'd be very surprised. Package deals don't always work out in the end. I guess they would both end up at Bama if that were the case.

Again, why would he announce the day before his Bama OV and it be to Georgia? If that happened, Saban would probably tell him to not come and thanks, but no thanks. He's announcing the day before, so that he can officially end the process and then go live it up at Bama on his OV, where he is committed. In the end, CJG and DD did all they could to sway him, but it sounds like it's not going to be enough. The only chance that we have is that he cancels his OV to Bama after his OV to Knoxville, which will be the writing on the wall, as to where he is going.

Unless I am mistaken I thought last night he didn't say for sure he would visit for the ole miss-bama game. I thought his statement had a little less certainty

???
