'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

Didn't you or TW say that he was trying to set up a public announcement for this week or next? Is this still happening or not?

With HS football being under way, and Henry coming to the UT vs. Florida game, I don't think we will see or hear a Henry announcement until after that point.

Such as his weekly postponement of giving his solid verbal to you guys?

nah, just him talking up bama before he decommitted, decommitting after his visit there, and naming bama his leader. not that it matters but is that enough reasons for you. UT fans should feel like they have a chance as well. nothing wrong with that either.

He's definitely got everyone's attention. As many of us have already said, the longer this plays out, then the better it is for UT. My hunch is that if he announces before the season, then it's Bama...after the Florida game when we beat the Gators, then it's the good guys. :)

It amazes me how much stock you guys put into individual game outcomes turning a recruit.

I would agree with you in almost every other instance, but in this case I tend to side with the tattooed baby as long as he ends up taking his official visit that weekend. Our fan base in general has been waiting for a win like this for awhile now, and the atmosphere before, during, and after the game with a win will be something special. We've made up a lot of ground on Alabama with Henry since his UGA commitment, and that might be just enough to push us over the top.

Thank you! I couldn't have said it any better. I don't usually put any weight into a recruit choosing us because of a single game. However, if we beat NC State and then Florida, then I think we are 4-0 headed to Georgia. If do it convincingly, then I could see Hart announcing that DD will get an extension at the end of the season, which kills the hot seat talk. This would be huge for some of the big recruits that really like UT but are worried about the coaching instability...Hatcher says hi to this.

If you truly believe Hatcher picked USC because of that UK game I don't know what to tell you.

And with a good year he could definitely end up a Vol!

Honestly, after those comments, i hope he just stays with kiffin, he called us "the bottom of the barrel", that's major disrespect to me. Tennessee will get their 9+ wins and move on, not all VFL's are gonna welcome him back with open arms if he wants to flip after those comments, We'll get someone else and hatcher can stay in cali for all i care.

He did and probably still does, but how we ended the season last year is a sticking point with him.....for now. Fans acting like they don't want or need this kid on the team are just hurt by the comments.

I still want him. And honestly losing to UK is the bottom of the barrel. Far as SEC football it gets no worse than losing to UK. Something that should just never happen.

Your exactly right, and I'm sure that is why he made the comments. A good season might change their minds.

Honestly I cant get mad, when you lose to UK in football it truely doesnt get any worse than that.

I can totally see why a recruit would rather go to the team that is currently winning, but calling a school the worst team in their conference, especially one that was in your top 3 is serious disrespect to me. There are more fish in the sea and it's a long way to Feb.

Definitely and it was probably taken out of context and wasnt meant the way its been portrayed. But either way we are UT and there is no excuse losing to UK, even though eventually it was due to happen. They have come close several times since 2000February they were due. And if we dont lose that game we may not have all the upgrades at the coaching spots. We definitely have a nice coaching and recruiting staff and all positions were upgrades. So as bad as it was i think it worked out for the best and had Dooley reevaluating everything.

Trust me i definitely get what your saying and was definitely insulting, but conference wise the only team we were ahead of was Ole Miss. Thats embarrasing. But new year and different results this year will have kids wanting to be Vols.

Remember if he does not announce soon and takes OVs, he has stated he will visit UT for the UF game and visit UA the next weekend for his final OV. So his announcement if not soon will happen at the end of Sept not the 3rd week.
