I have nothing but respect for Texas' program, but Arrogant Texas Fan came on here talking trash and you have to understand he is going to get it back in face. With that being said, I do dislike the following about Texas:

1. Out of the 3 times we have played each other EACH GAME HAS BEEN IN DALLAS = completely unfair. This exemplifies how Texas won't step out of their comfort zone, especially playing on the East Coast.

2. You guys played weak OOC opponents and virtually nobody besides Oklahoma from 2000-2009, which allowed Mack Brown to win a lot of 10 game seasons and get to multiple BCS games.

I respect the following:
1. Your game day atmosphere and tailgating is considered one of the best in the country
2. Your great academic institution.
3. You guys are #2 all time in wins, although your program has been around about 15 years longer than ours and most others.
4. The women in Austin.

Number four is true on all levels.

Thanks captain obvious. Now back to the jort barn. BTWm shouldnt you be a Baylor fan? They are better than Florida anyway.

I'm not against negative recruiting, if the UT staff can do it in the right way. Drive home the fact that we've wanted him from the day we extended the offer. Tejas came in a week ago because they missed on guys they wanted more than Santos.

Texas Pros
-hot Latinas, better Mexican food, Austin is DA BOMB.
-closer to home
-lifelong fan, dad likes Texas.
-better coaching stability and coaching record (Mack v. Dooley). AD just recommended Mack for a 4 year extension, go to ESPN's front page for proof. Additionally, Texas will be back nationally this year, top 15 team.
-chances of getting injured are less in a pass happy conference.
-Texas is a much better school than Tennessee.

Tennessee Pros
-better moonshine
-better weather in the summer and don't have to worry about wildfires burning down your city.
-we have been recruiting him since early in the process and Texas has him as a backup option and got in at the last second.
-SEC is a better conference, better competition.
-will be more prepared for the NFL and play against Pro Style offenses.
-more playing time in a 3-4, won't have to split time with AJ. Will be playing behind a future NFL linebacker, top 40 national recruit at MLB at Texas.

Going to be a tough choice.

I'd actually love to play for Mack Brown, he is a great guy and is really a players coach. I know he isn't the brightest guy but he always surrounds himself with great talent. The offensive coordinator at Texas is creative and a star in the making. Not sure about Manny as the D coordinator, but he has ridiculous talent to work with next year.

Don't kid yourselves guys, Texas will be a top 10 program again in 1-2 years. If they get a QB they will really sneak up on people next year.

Exactly!

Its not negative, its the truth

I agree..I'm not either as long as you stay within the rules..I'm sure that Sunseri and Hoseph will lay EVERYTHING out there loud and clear.:)

Plus if what OCI says about Wilcox/Sirmon, then we have that going for us and Dalton has that on his mind..And his dad really liked Sirmon/Wilcox..so who do you think in the long run he will listen to..them or the Texas staff that just started recruiting him? I know who I would listen to.

It's kind of like campaigning. I'm not a fan of negative recruiting but laying down the facts is fair.

I guess it is simply semantics.

You gotta do what you gotta do..:naughty:

Also, you have to think about this: how much time and effort has Texas spent in the recruitment of Santos compared to UT? And Dalton and his family know this.

Texas wouldn't care. Texas would be fine as an independent or in the Big 10 or Pac 10. I doubt OU would want this move for 2 reasons:

#1 Texas has made it clear to OU that the RRR will end if OU goes to a different conference. That game is very important for OU's recruiting in Texas.

#2 Why would OU want a harder path to a BCS game? They aren't stupid like A&M.

By the way, lots of internet buzz that ACC schools (like FSU, Clemson, BC, Ga Tech & others) are talking about bringing over 5 teams to the Big 12 and enticing ND to be the 16th team in the Big 12.

Some top qualtiy information right there......:loco:

Tennessee is closer to winning their conference title than Texas?

Florida Gators hires Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp - ESPN

Brown sounds TERRIBLE!

Re: WM's opinions of MB, what part of "behind closed doors" did you not understand?

I haven't said 1 thing negative about Tennessee. I have said that Texas was DS's favorite schools growing up - which it was. I said that TCU/WVU were football upgrades over A&M/Mizzou. Where did I talk trash?

You guys played weak OOC opponents and virtually nobody besides Oklahoma from 2000-2009

OOC: Stanford, North Carolina, Arkansas, Ohio State, TCU were played twice for the most part during that time and Utah (when they were really good) cancelled a 3 game series and Wisconsin backed out of a 2 game series against Texas during that time. Texas does always have a tune-up every year like a Rice or a North Texas but everyone does that.

Drive home the fact that we've wanted him from the day we extended the offer. Tejas came in a week ago because they missed on guys they wanted more than Santos.

I think this is an over-rated point that keeps being brought up. If there is a young man who grew up a lifelong Vol fan and Tennessee offered him a week or so before signing day, for whatever reason, he wouldn't care about the time frame.

Yeah, because it has hurt Florida in the past when Tenneessee has gotten "the next big thing"

Then why are you here? Just to be a massive pain in the a$$. The reason we have stopped being competitive with UF is because we have stopped getting enough "next big things". Like I said, I am sure you don't want that to change. Now go do whatever it is Uf jackoffs do for fun. Maybe make some more piss bombs, or buy some more jorts.:hi:

I do not know if it would be considered talking trash but this is untrue. You can say it all you like... and it will still be untrue. TCU should have lost to La Tech in their bowl game. They have made a name beating up on subpar teams in the Mountain West. WVU is a good program that also benefits from playing in a very weak conference. The BE has never belonged in the BCS.

I think it is a point that can only be answered by the person within their value set. Some guys feel insulted. Some guys do not care. I do not claim to have any idea which category Santos falls into.

I do think that UT values him more than Texas does. That may or may not influence his ultimate decision.

I would think that it would affect his decision..I know if I were in his shoes, it would affect me.

Those statues are great arent' they? They were created by one of the book stores and the source of quite a bit of ridicule by Longhorn fans.

As to Santos. I think it's a 50/50 deal. You've got childhood favorite plus Daddy working for Texas vs. loyalty and a better chance to play his true position for Tennessee. I don't think anyone knows how the coin is going to flip on this one.

My wife and 90% of my friends are Vol alumni so it pains me to read the Texas bashing. On one hand, I want to respond with trash talking of my own. On the other hand, I want Tennessee to do well so that I can, once again, enjoy tailgates and games with my Vol inner circle.

I wondered how the statue collection got started. Sounds like one of those unsuitable gifts from a loved one. You really don't know what to do with it, but act all appreciative and end up getting another one and another one... You Texas folks must have heart.

TU really put Santos on the spot. He deserves better than what he got, and better than what he'll prolly get if he goes there. Santos seems like one of us already, so I'd expect most Volunteers to wish him well in life, whatever he chooses.

Suggest not worrying much about any trash talking. It happens, but staying clear of them is the better way to go. Think of those posts like cow pies, and you'll know what to do.

All valid points.....the S&C guy at Texas during Muschamp's time in Austin was a joke and has been replaced. Mack would have retired if Colt hadn't gotten hurt in the national title game. Brown would have gone out a winner and Muchamp would have been the coach in 2010 - that was the plan. EVERYONE, Muschamp included, became frustrated. As for Mac hanging on too long, he didn't want to leave after a down year. He wants to build Texas back up to a national title contender and he feels he owes it to the school. Look at the recruiting class Texas has, he is doing his job well.

When has he not recruited well? That isn't the issue-the issue is the crap product he has put on the field, all while collecting 5 stars and playing in a weak conference (this year aside). It's not like he plays in a recruiting arms race conference like the SEC. They should not have the issues they have with teams when they out-rank almost all of them in recruiting by wide margins.

And another Texas fan that thinks they were winning that game if Colt hadn't gotten hurt? This continues to be rich. First of all, it wasn't happening, and even if you want to think it was the fact of the matter is Colt couldn't take a hit, and was knocked out of the game with an "injury" that doesn't show up on x-rays, MRI's, etc, which happenned after his mysterious performance against Nebraska in the B12CG where he did everything but take a dump at mid-field. Injuries are part of the game-like the enormous chunk of time the Heisman Trophy winner missed of that game (Texas of course forgets this, and since Ingram won the Heisman over Colt I would say that Bama lost the better player). Difference is Alabama had better back-ups than Texas, which of course comes back to recruiting and coaching, meaning they had the better team.

I never said that. I did say that SEC brought in 2 substandard football programs in Mizzou & A&M but the SEC is still better and deeper than the Big 12.
