'10 WA QB Garrett Grayson

If they don't get Scroggins he'll start eventually. I like his chances better than Rozier.
Rozier will never see the field either...

if we completely whiff on QBs this year and next, he could play out of necessity, but I wouldn't count on us going 2 classes without signing a QB.

you mean you wouldnt count on us doing something that we literally just did? haha im messing with you, i know what you meant, and i agree. going 4 classes in a row without one is impossible. but now that i think about it, getting lamaison will mean we got one last class, which technically makes your post correct. oh well, i tried.

in regards to the spring highlight films, it is true that you cant derive the quality with which the defense played for the entire game. however, after seeing several of those plays (i only watched the first 3 minutes), i think it is safe to assume that the defense probably wasnt incredible

why in the world do so many people think lamaison will start?

he will most likely never play a meaningful snap at UT.

What are you basing this off? His highlight film looked good. I think he gets a shot to beat out ginger net year.

Did Grayson already visit? I just read that the staff wanted him to stop by while he was out east. Either he did or he is going to. Someone should paint the rock if he hasn't stopped by yet. I think he may have already though.

He already did.

Not the case. Kiffin was in office. The dude was slow played.

Sab the kid himself said that he did not know he was going there until he was in Atlanta. And they went the next day. Slow played or not is not the issue. Kiffin is technically on vacation whether in office at time or not. Which I have seen no proof either way. You just want to distinguish between him and Scroggins and then set up your point that the coaches have misplayed the QB recruiting. Everyone knows Scroggins is a more valuable recruit. No need to point it out on a board this recruit is probably reading. Hint Hint

The fact is this was a stop by basically unannounced until last minute. Could Kiffin had heard hey this kid is in town today and ran from where ever he was? Yes, if he was in town. No, if he was in Tampa. Which again the radio interview thing to me confirmed it not at all. I have heard he did in fact go to Tampa somewhere around this time so we do not know.

Just leave it alone and wait until February to attack the coaches. I bet no one wants to at that time.

I haven't seen any confirmation that Kiffin was in his office drawing up plays on the exact day and time that Grayson was on campus....He said he was in the office at the time of the tony basilio interview but that doesnt mean he has been there everyday all day this week...he could have been with the family or had other obligations that he could not get out of. Kiffin is the type of guy that could be in 2 or 3 states in the same day with how much he is on the move. It might have been the day he was running around with some NFL guys. Nobody knows enough to speak in facts

another thing....the kid isnt very impressive from what i have seen but that based off limited stuff to watch on him

he does have some things in his favor...we need a QB, he is reportedly very accurate and smart...you can always build up arm strength and work on that horrible throwing motion

I understand he has been in office every day this month so far. He is on way to Nebraska this weekend for his brothers wedding

He won't start this year or probably even next year, but if we don't get a good QB in this class, I'd say he has a good chance to start at UT at some point, perhaps 2011.

CLK is in for a really rocky start if the scenario you laid out plays out...

2010 will be worse than 2009 because of line issues, inexperienced lineman will have to play.

if he can't corral a better QB than NL, 2011 will be pretty rough..

Considering who is left at QB, I think this kid has PLENTY of potential to justify an offer. Everyone has said we want to take 2 QBs this year, so even if the stars align and Scroggins picks us, Garrett could be our #2. Like Ive said before, I have a feeling this kid is going to blow up recruiting wise once he shows good at more camps and has a great SR year....if we wait till then to finally offer he will do us just like Rettig did.

+1

spot on IMO
We got an emergency backup in Rozier. Even if CLK brought Lamaison in for depth purposes, he's not just going to bring in someone who has NO chance to compete for a starting spot. If that were the case, CLK would've kept Boyd...ESPECIALLY since Boyd (5*) would've attracted more offensive talent.
He has said time and time again that he does not want to take someone that he feels will just get beat out and ride the bench by the guys he brings in.

Yet, you're saying he brought Lamaison in for that explicit purpose. How can you reconcile that with CLK's own words?

Kiffin would not of let Boyd practice at QB. He would be so frustrated with a kid who cannot do the little things on a play nor remember the plays nor be able to ever read a D to do a simple audible.

Lamaison can manage a game under Kiffin. I doubt he ever gets the chance but he at least has that hope. I hope you guys are ready for a much improved O. I don't think our O has been as good as it will be this year since Casey Clausen years and maybe before. You guys can roast me if I am wrong but there is a reason Kiffin is so arrogant back in the college game. He knows he owns most of the clowns coaching on the college level. Now UF and Bama those are going to be real tough. Richt might as well quit now. JMO but a strong one.

Damn i sure do hope your right. If our o-line does better, then i think our offence will be good. Give him time and we'll see a whole new Jonathan Crompton.

If they can resurrect Crompton and Stephen's game, you talk about a recruiting tool...and it will serve to get some folks off of Reaves' back.

By the way...to step OT just a sec.; anyone know what the status is with Chester McGlockton? I haven't heard his name mentioned in quite some time. Is he still interning this fall, or has he already left the team?

With Mitch Browning an Chaney working on the line theres no way we wont be better. Also with the new strength and conditioning program, we wont be a bunch of lard @sses.

It's funny, the same line (for the most part) that was heralded for keeping Ainge so well protected, is being discarded by their own fans, as now being substandard.

Seems pretty clear to me, that the problem was the offensive line being in a state of disarray since clawson's offense had them thinking too much. Defense's are just too quick for that. Trying to flip lineman shows that it was just too gimicky. Maybe Clawson felt he had to impress with complex alignments and such, instead of staying simple.
But yeah...3 OL coaches, and 2 of those with NFL experience...we should be in pretty good shape.
