He told GVX that he's waiting till that date so it can be on ESPN and hopefully boost the recruiting for whichever school he chooses.

I just saw that. I don't think that it's anything that will boost recruiting like he thinks it will, but it's something that he believes in and has probably been told to wait on.

No, the coaching staff is showing that they are going to wait for Scroggins. If they couldn't wait, they would have already offered Rettig.

Your making it seem like he's already made up his mind, which he hasn't.

I think the odds right now are about 44% Tennessee, 55% USC, and 1% Florida but, again, your making it seem like we have no shot whatsoever, which couldn't be farther away from the truth.

They already offered Rees, so what's your point?? Why would they make the offer public at this point (for Rettig), if they are holding out hope that Jesse MIGHT still come here??

I don't see Barkley beating Corp out. The kid could even redshirt this year. He didn't have a great spring and has had problems with interceptions even going back to his senior year were he threw 18. Mustain seems like he isn't going anywhere and is back on the team. Why would you waste a year for Barkley if he didn't start? I know I wouldn't.

Scroggins and his dad aren't stupid. He will get every chance for success here. He has to know how important he is to us. I think he lands in knoxville when it is all said and done.

Did Jesse actually come out and say he was waiting to announce on ESPN to try and get some national recognition for his school?

I mean your already in July anyway, if you were gonna press him for a commit it should have been in June IMO. What does a couple of weeks matter.

CUM is getting to him, trying to negative recruit. scroggins says he's concerned about the UT violations.

If he knew how many were self-reported by the other schools he shouldn't be concerned at all. If he's that naive, we probably don't want him. I don't think he is, I'm just saying.

I know when he will apply but this article made it sound like ESPN will cover it....

Scroggins says he'll announce July 25 : Football Recruiting : GoVolsXtra.com

“Most people don’t understand,” Scroggins said. “Florida has changed their offense around their quarterback. (Senior Gator quarterback Tim) Tebow is a running style of quarterback so they use that. With (former Gators quarterback) Chris Leak, they passed the ball and used more pro-style.”

If he thinks UF ran a pro-style offense under Leak, the NFL must be constantly blacked out in his TV market.

They offered Rees as the #2 guy, that has nothing to do with Scroggins. Both USC and Tennessee are holding out and hoping that they get Scroggins, and if they don't than they'll offer Rettig.

And again your making it seem like we have absolutely no shot at landing Scroggins, and that's just wrong. Scroggins hasn't made up his mind yet, so how could we have no shot?

If that is the way you believe, it's all good. I know that USC has been in contact with him for almost as long as UT has, if not longer. They offered the latest of anyone, but that doesn't matter at this point. As far as him competing hurt, he made a miraculous recovery before he went out there and honestly I think that says a lot about where USC stands for him.
Talking to a recruit and offering are completely different occurances. We've talked to plenty, but only offered a few. USC's approach to him has been uninspiring, if not disrespectful. It communicates a glaring lack of need. We, conversely are quite the opposite. Proximity to campus should take a seat...in the trunk!
What best prepares him for and gives him the best shot to get to the next level should be in the driver seat. Waiting 3-4yrs behind Barkley and Corp isn't a promising proposition, regardless of USC's QB history.

Why?

I would think just about the only reason we don't want him at this point is if he chooses USC or UF.
