Not sure why it's one or the other.

Not sure why him being truly torn is out of the question.

It too far along for him at this point to be torn. He's seen all he needs to see, and I think he's being told to wait on making anything public at this point in time.

I don't want to, but I agree with Eric.

USC just makes too much sense.

spending your career on the bench? only playing one, possibly two years at the most, assuming that you can beat out the 5 star stud that will probably be following you? you might be right about the outcome, but it doesnt make any sense to me.

there was an article today on VQ. says he is committing july 25 for sure. also said hes doing it for the ESPN coverage so that he can "help boost whoevers" recruiting. that makes me wonder if its us, but that may just be wishful thinking really.

he calls all the violations at UT "hoopla" though, but he also says that he thinks that we will be good this year.

I disagree. Some people take their time at things. I'd say this is a very hard decision, especially considering a few circumstances.

There are many prospects that go to schools that most would look at and go, "What the hell is that kid thinking??". Problem with everything is, as much as we would like to add up complicated math on why kids would want to come here, sometimes a kid is happier with one place or another and the depth chart just doesn't matter to them. In fact, most everytime Scroggins mentions USC, he mentions directly competing with Barkley and when he mentions Florida he routinely mentions Chris Leak. He never mentions any QB, former or current, when he mentions us.

I want be suprised if he chooses UT or USC. However I will be suprised if he chooses UF.

Close to home, family and friends can come watch him, and it's USC.

Carrol is likely telling him Barkley goes pro after his junior year, and he can start as a redshirt sophomore, or he can come in and win the job.

Also, he said that USC entered his recruiting kind of late. Sounds like UT is in a good position because we've been going after this kid full strength for a long time here.

USC has been in it from the start, honestly. To say they haven't is a complete understatement.

i understand your point, but i am trying to relate to Scroggins specifically, based on his comments. this kid wants to play. he has already made a statement regarding waiting behind Barkley, so i believe that he has some form of doubt that he can beat him for QB1. i also have stated that i perceive Florida as a real threat to get him. i still do.

Been going through the thread, reading articles....

Anybody underestimating USC being almost literally right down the road from where he lives is in for a rude awakening. Personally, I don't think the competition factor balances that out.

I'm good with Rettig getting the offer, watching him tear it up in the SEC, chest-bumping his WR's after a TD on CBS...while Scroggins keeps the bench warm for Barkley for the next 3yrs. But hey, at least Jesse will be close to home. :good!:

I don't think that anyone thinks that he would want that as an ideal situation to step into, but he's stated numerous times that he doesn't care about the depth chart or early playing time. He wants to earn the job, which is why I think he wants to go to USC. If he wins the job there, then he's accomplished something. I think though, that if he does go there he will have a tough time winning the job, but I don't think that Jesse cares about that though because of his competitive nature.

i wont be surprised if he goes to USC. itll suck, but w/e, we will move on. if he does something so unexpected and choses UF, i will just downright cry, and burn/maim/mangle something.
