If USC had just another 4* prospect last year, that's one thing, but Jesse would be trying to supplant two 5* guys ahead of him, and fight off another next year.
If Pete Carroll thought for a minute that Jesse is an All-World prospect, he would've been in on him from the beginning and Jesse would've had an offer at the beginning of the recruiting season. That he had to wait this long and had to compete with other unheralded guys...and hurt at that...tells you what Pete thinks of his ability.

BTW, bold or Caps for emphasis...sorry if that cramps your style or something.

I get what you're saying. I got it the first time. My question is, if you were a big time prospect, and UT was loaded at whatever position you played, would you pursue other options? I WOULD NOT.

I can imagine that's his situation. I'd like to see him come to UT. But unlike you, I don't think it'd be stupid for him to commit to USC, if that's where he wants to go.

Plus, what you said about exposure is dumb. It's USC.

Not Nationally...the SEC has the largest exposure in the country. PAC 10 games don't even compare. How many USC games do you get to see in TN? I moved to CA a year ago, and even here, I see UT on NATIONALLY televised broadcasts more than SC.

And your take on playing for your local team...that's all fine and good if you're at another position and you're aren't a highly rated player...but Jesse's situation is much different. If I were in his shoes and a Florida, Texas, Ohio State, and Tenn came calling with a much better depth chart situation, that's where I'm going...if I have any real aspirations for the NFL

I actually see most of USC's games, and I live in Knoxville. They're on a Fox sports station, I believe. When they aren't prime time ESPN or ABC, they're on that around 10 pm, week in and week out.

Matt Cassel

Yea, you can always find the USC game on around 10 on fox sports south. abc or espn at 8. or turn on the news at any point during the year and the sports segment will probably do a story on them. Just a day in the life of a USC football player.

I believe that a big time QB will switch his commitment close to signing day and be a Vol.
It happens every year, and will happen this year. JMO!

Would like to have him for 2 reasons..

To help with other recruits.

To push crompton to be a better player.

Just the top 2.

Dude....he got EXTREMELY lucky. Jury is still out on him, IMO, until he succeeds in KC.

I'm just sayin'...
He said that if he wanted to get to the NFL, being a backup at USC wasn't the way to do it. With evidence, I respectfully disagreed.

Crompton's a senior and Scroggins wouldn't be here until after he's gone. They may not even meet each other

Good point Buck.

Cassel didnt really have to try in NE. Any QB could win with that team. When you have that many weapons around you its very hard to fail.

USC is USC. That's all the exposure they need. The same reason Notre Dame is somehow Notre Dame. Haven't won anything and have a shockingly overpaid coach. But they're Notre Dame.

And once again, you are missing the point. If Tennessee. Had a fully loaded depth chart. And USC didn't. Would you. Go to. USC. Or. UT. ?!

Basically, you don't know this kid. Or what he wants. You're just some guy on a messageboard, like myself, who hears 4th hand information. There's no point in saying this kid is making a stupid decision if he wants to go to USC.
