I was suprised by Hubbs thoughts as well. At the beginning of his interview he also stated that he doesn't think anybody really knows whats going on with his recruitment. And that when Jesse says everybody is equal right now, that nobody has anything to go on besides that.

Hubbs didn't like the fact that he is waiting till the end of July to decided, from UT's standpoint that all other QB's we have offered are all committed else where. So that makes him think that UT coaches think they have a really good chance at landing him or else they would have already offered someone else.

I think there is something to that. Not saying that Lane is keeping anything top secret, but he has to know something on the situation. If not, Rettig would be on the first flight out here to throw.

I don't want to say this...but I had a nightmare last night where I was watching the broadcast of Jesse announcing and the hat he put on had blue in it.....:pukeb:

I think, when the kid sits down with his HS coach and goes over all the pro's and cons, UT comes out on top. This staff is betting the farm on him, whereas USC and UF are fine with or without him.
With him enrolling in Jan. and on campus for Spring practice, He WILL be the starter next fall. 4yrs at UT or 1-2 at USC or UF is too big an obstacle to overcome in the final analysis, IMO.

+1

The only thing that explains his interests in UF is the fact that Urban is one of the best liars on the planet.

I hope Hubbs is right on this one. I like our chances alot better if it is us and FL. I don't see him going to UF. He has family ties to both USC and Tennessee. The more we hear the more I start to think it is UT. Seems like something Kiffin would do as far as saying commit at the camp it will give us some headlines. We beat USC and UF for a recruit. Build that up as much as possible. Also the lack of action from UT on other recruits is telling as well as hearing the talk about USC offering Retig or Bray. To me it is starting to look like we may end up with him. At least I hope?

We may just be seeing a lack of action because we have Lamaison wrapped up and they don't like the other options all that much ... at least not enough to take a chance by giving Scroggins a reason to not come here by going hard after Retteig (sp?).

I know the coaches aren't all that excited about '10 QB offerings...but Lamaison + Stephens is just not enough going into 2010...it'll be interesting to see what they have up their sleeves.

You should see your physician....Ambien will help take care of nightmares....

Or.....you could just take some of crunchimusmaximus' medications and have visions of him committing to UT instead. Hes in the bag according to him and his visions.

I still think that Urban could care less if Scroggins ever sees the field at UF....he just wants to make sure that UT gets screwed....if he can drag this out long enough and leave UT high and dry, it will more than pay UT back for Nuke.

Question...did Jesse move his decision/announcement date back to the Elite 11 camp before or after his late-night discussion with Urban?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he said the 25th after the USC camp....don't think the call had anything to do with it....

I just do not understand why he would go to Florida and play for a coach that has never coached a pro-style offense.

Florida's appeal is national championships. 2 of last 3 and looking at getting a third this year. NC rings make a huge impression on kids.. huge...

Has UF made up ground recently, or were they running this close with USC and UT all along? From all the comments I have seen posted by Sroggins, USC and UT seemed to be getting the most attention.

Random question...when will I get my second star...I have been here 2 years as of today!!!????

Secondly, I have always feared Florida in this battle. Urban can just plainly say you can choose from the elite team in the SEC with an almost equal depth chart situation (I know FL is a little more stacked but they are still pretty low on QBs.) Or you can choose to go to our whipping boy and get drilled by us for four years. (not what I think will happen but what he can sell pretty easily.)

If we can pull Scroggins from either of these two powers I think it should be considered an upset for the Vols.

Florida has been right there all along.

Comments by recruits cannot always be taken as the truth.

Richardson left here still committed to Florida and was told by our staff to continue to talk that way.. ended up with us.

As I always advise people, only about 50% of what is stated to media by prospects is accurate. Determining the 50% that is accurate, will drive a fan crazy.

I rarely read the reports on prospects. Littered with all the same comments no matter what school they are discussing. How can it all be true? Maybe they say nothing at all about their favorite??

Looking at it that way, then you would have to say UF is the favorite, and that sucks. From all the quotes I have read from Scroggins, UF is the one he talks about the least, which could be bad for us.

My hate for Florida may be uncontrolable if LiarLiar pull this off...:furious3:
