why was Kevin banned? I enjoyed his updates, and unlike some other board "gurus", he actually had some real contacts

He took a good bashing during the Bryce Brown coming to practice deal. I think it was over his sources and stuff he really knew that he didn't want to get out.

You can read through

If you want to see what all went on in depth.

I acknowledged that you made a valid point and I also am aware that there will be many factors contributing to Scroggins decision. I'm not sure why you have jumped so (pardon the pun) tenaciously @ the question that i politely asked another poster during this discussion about the playing time factor. Please let me know if i've missed something?

I am opposed to the idea that "immediate playing time" should always be considered as a good selling point - some could see it as being negative, too.

My comments followed your assertion that immediate playing time somehow made more, "common sense" than any other reason, echoing the sentiments of many, many others who share this belief.

It is the assertion which I sought to challenge, and not any single individual - including you.

Sorry for any sense that I was coming after you, alone.

The difference for Scroggins will be just another good prospect competing for playing time with very little attention at USC versus being a center piece and leading QB candidate from day one at UT. Some people might shy away from the pressure that the spotlight will bring, others would thrive in it. We'll see which way he goes. He's fortunate to have such great choices.

I think it is us or USC. At first I thought the longer this played out the worse our chances are. But with all the talk about USC and Rettig and Bray. I am starting to feel like he is leaning toward UT. I don't see him going to UF.

USC, UT or UF. I'd hate to be in his shoes right now. 2 choices all but guarantee a ring, the third wants desperately to get back in the mix at the conference level. He can be a hero at any one of those schools.
The grass is not always greener on the other side. It's very difficult to repeat as NC's, and we actually leapfrogged UF in recruiting rankings for '09...and that is with them coming off a NC; so if there is a talent gap as many have stated in the past, it's closing fast.
USC lost their OC (Sark), who took their DC with them to UW, and they lost a boatload of talent to the NFL draft...so counting on them to be in the NC mix this year or the next is quite a stretch.

USC WILL be in the hunt this year. Can't predict past that but they'll be a very strong contender this year.

You don't have that much turnover on both staff and roster and EXPECT to be in the NC hunt...not likely to happen. New QB...half the defense gone...replacing nearly half the staff...Yeah, mark them down right now as the heavy favorite for preseason No.1.

The dont play anyone worth a crap. One should think they would be in contention but with that being said i think they will get upset by someone

Pete Carroll runs that defense, and I'm sure they'll find somebody to run the offense.

Per Hubbs on The Zone in Nashville just now, He believes its still between UT and UF. Believes USC is a stretch and that its more of his father wanting him to stay close to home and wants to see Jesse in a USC uniform. Thinks he is really comfortable with things at UF and in the long run its going to come down to how comfortable Jesse is with the coaches and things at UT.

Seriously? That's interesting..... This is the exact opposite of what my gut is telling me. I feel like it is down to USC and UT with USC slightly leading due to proximity. I feel like UF is running way behind. Just my gut.

I think, when the kid sits down with his HS coach and goes over all the pro's and cons, UT comes out on top. This staff is betting the farm on him, whereas USC and UF are fine with or without him.
With him enrolling in Jan. and on campus for Spring practice, He WILL be the starter next fall. 4yrs at UT or 1-2 at USC or UF is too big an obstacle to overcome in the final analysis, IMO.

As far as Mom and Dad that makes sense. It is Moms family here I believe in Tennessee. But I still feel Jesse is leaning with Dad but we will see.

I thought that was not certain. Isn't he missing some credits to graduate early?

I was suprised by Hubbs thoughts as well. At the beginning of his interview he also stated that he doesn't think anybody really knows whats going on with his recruitment. And that when Jesse says everybody is equal right now, that nobody has anything to go on besides that.

Hubbs didn't like the fact that he is waiting till the end of July to decided, from UT's standpoint that all other QB's we have offered are all committed else where. So that makes him think that UT coaches think they have a really good chance at landing him or else they would have already offered someone else.

I had just read that he was planning on graduating early...don't know if there is a hindrance to that or not. If he has Spring and summer to digest the playbook and get acclimated to Kiffin's system, he's the man, IMHO. Why? Cause Stephens will have only 1yr head start, and I think we've seen enough evidence already that CLK want's HIS players, and HIS coaches. Stephens has shown to be nothing but a backup to date. Even Lamaison would jump Stephens, IMO.
