There's a big difference in waiting for your Junior year to try out for the starting spot against a stud Sophomore who's already in the system and earning the starting gig your Freshman year and having to defend it in later years.

Completly agree, just pointing that out, JIC.

I'm just not convinced that Florida can get his commitment. This whole CUM pro-style offense is a complete mystery, more so than the new UT offense which is based upon what... the USC offense that Scroggins is so fond of. What better place to be then a big time university that runs the same, or similar, offense that your hometown school runs and you can play early. Is Urban telling Scroggins he's also going to be running the USC offense? Doubtful.

He seems to keep putting off the decision. I think he said that after the USC camp he would decide the next week--maybe I misunderstood but I thought he'd decide by the end of next week. I don't know whether that's good or bad for UT. It seems to me that it means he really is undecided.

I agree

Urban's probably telling Scroggins that he plans on moving Brantley to LB once Scroggins gets there

I honestly believe USC is the team looking in through the out door...I just can not see them getting him with all the depth and talent they have at the QB spot...I really believe it's down to UT/UF for his services.

I know Scroggins is the top QB left on the board for UT, but can someone compare him to a prior sucessful SEC quarterback? Since this year's crop of QB's is down, I'm wondering if he is definetly legit? For example, does he have better skills than Ainge, Stephens, or Crompton coming out of high school?

That said, i hope he is a vol!

I'm hearing a lot of people compare him to Jason Campbell.

USC is getting love because he lives like 20 minutes from campus and has always followed them. They just got on the band wagon a month or two ago. He's home town, if they felt he was all that, they should have had him on the radar earlier. He had a good camp or two, stock rose, and now they are interested. He's going to listen to them, but I don't see him committing there. It's UT/UF with UT in the lead. UF doesn't have the fan support that we do nor do they have the ROCK!!

It's probably to hard to tell. It's not just coming in with skills, it's coming in with the mentality to work your "behind" off and get better. Hard work and absorbing the stuff coaches relay to you make good QB's great.

I've seen nothing to indicate Jesse Scroggins is half the runner Tony Robinson was.

Just watch his tapes and you'll see he has the know of when to throw and when to tuck it and run. Since he is selling himself as a Pro-Style QB, you won't see abunch of runs. But, those that he does make are makes him seem allusive.

The longer this goes for him, the more concern I have. I think that he might commit to someone and change his mind later.

I'm just not crazy about the cut of his jib. I think he's talented and looks to have the tools to be a very good QB, but I just hope it comes without drama.

With his passing skills... If he were as elusive as Tony Robinson, he'd not only be a much higher rated prospect, but Urban Meyer would throw Josh Brantley to the curb in order to land Jesse.

Hey Sab i know you said once before we had about a 40 to 50 percent chance to land him.. Has that percentage went up or down in the past 2 weeks?
Anyone else feel free to give your percentages as well.
I am to the point i dont have a clue.....:dunno:
