yeah I think maybe he is going on 22nd cuz he does not want to face other QBs who will be competing idk? More likely he was just confused.

It was asked a few minutes ago on VQ and alot of people were saying the 24th and 25th, but a guy put up a link to an article from USCs Scout site:

But that doesn’t change the fact USC is a school that Scroggins has high interest in and said he looks forward to competing for an offer at the June 22 camp at USC.

Besides attending the June 22 camp at USC, Scroggins said he has tentative plans to attend other school camps this summer.

"I think I'll go to the Cal camp, The Florida (recently offered) camp and the Tennessee camp," Scroggins said. "Those are the camps I know, so far."

We'll have more from Scroggins after the June 22 camp at USC.

Scroggins is convinced that the camp was today...

The Rising Stars Camp is the one Jesse has been planning to attend and the one where the coaches claim to offer the best QB there. That is on the 24th which is Wednesday. There is an overnight camp and a single day one.

I asked some questions to Scott Kennedy on Scout about Scroggins. He is their Director of Scouting. Here is what he said:

I first told him about about Scroggins thinking he was camping at USC today and asked him where he felt Scroggins would land:

He's attending the rising stars camp, so he may have just had the dates confused. if the trojans are looking to take a quarterback this year, I'd be surprised if he came out of that camp without an offer.

Director of Scouting

Then I said I've heard he's a UT lean, but I'm worried that if USC offers, that's where he will go:
USC has had some luck with back to back QBs like that, but it's typically pretty hard to recruit another QB the year after getting a Top 3 guy like Barkley.

Notre Dame pulled it off with Clausen/Crist as well

So basically he told us nothing new ( except Scroggins has his dates confused)...

1. He'd leave USC with an offer
2. It is hard to pull back to back good QB's, but it can be done

He isn't going to USC... he is simply going to camp to prove he deserves an offer from the state's best school and one of the best schools in the nation. Honestly, he may not even get a USC offer if they feel he will commit elsewhere and offering won't help their case. I could see them saying if you are coming we will offer, but if not we will move on.

TN bound

USC seems to do it quite oftern :cray:

I have a good feeling about Scroggins. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping we land him, like everyone else.

and schools usually push for an earlier verbal because it helps bring in better recruits. in most cases you want to build your offense around the quarterback.

Whoever shows up to play Oline had better bring their "A" game.

They're going to practice against what is shaping up to be an awesome defense. We've had some good ones at UT, but if things keep going our way, it's going to take a great offense to move the ball in practice.

It may be the toughest D they'll face... in college ball.

that would be something outstanding to have....we did however have a top 5 defense last year and look what happened. a powerful balance of both would suit me better.

Are you saying defense does not always win championships?

I just got off the phone with him and to clear up some things (will write a story and post it in the next hour or so) Scroggins says Tennessee, Florida, and USC are his top three. Will not declare a leader. He will be at USC on Wed and Thurs. He will participate in camp, but says he is not 100-percent physically.

And their is no timetable for a decision at this point although he will start trying to work towards one after the USC camp.

Hubbs

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I still think we land him.

I am hoping that his inability to perform at USC will keep him from having a scholly offer

If they want him, they'll still offer anyway, knowing that he's said that he's getting close to making his decision.

I think he gets the USC offer and then has to make a tough decision. Just from what he's saying I don't think he's made a decision. I think he wants to know all his options before making a decision.

FWIW, I'm not sure Meyer wants him and I'm fairly certain he's lying about going pro-style for Scroggins or any other player. If he goes pro-style... Meyer will be auditioning for the NFL. I believe his narcissistic ego has already outgrown Gainesville.

I think Urban wants Weiss to choke on a donut so he can be the new Irish coach.

I think Meyer is recruiting Scroggins primarily to try to keep him away from UT.

Meyer going to a pro-style offense = :bs:
