Which school will Scroggins verbally commit to tomorrow?

Palmer is starting
Cassell is starting
Leinart could be starting fairly soon

We have Peyton. Any other QBs still in the league even? I wasn't sure if Ainge got cut or anything.

Their last four starting QB's and one of their backups are on NFL rosters. That's about as badass an NFL QB scenario as any college will ever be able to boast.

Just being on a roster isn't necessarily what QB prospects aspire to...I wouldn't call having Ainge on the Jets depth chart... "Badass." No more so regarding Booty or Sanchez.
Peyton is Badass...
Cassell is where now, Kansas City? On one of the worst teams in the NFL? We'll see if he's more than a one season wonder. Jury is still out on all but one of those "badass" USC QB's

The most badass QB typically goes to the suckiest team in the NFL. And being able to tell a kid that your last five QBs are in the NFL (all drafted, three in the first round) is ridiculous. I can't recall another school being able to say that. There is a really good chance USC will have 3 NFL starters in 2009. And then they are one old ass Kurt Warner injury away from making it 4.

I think everyone needs to settle down a bit. We should know something by the end of next week! I think in the end he's a vol. UT needs scroggins more than USC. I'm sure he realizes that too, it helps us that CLK came from the USC pedigree, & also that he has fam in TN. I'm sure CLK expressed all these things to scroggins during the visit. I think he just wants to show USC, he's the best QB in cali also. No one can deny playing in the SEC or playing in front of 100g + crowd week in & week out. I'm not saying he's a vol lock, but its looking good for us. After the USC camp this week we will know more about were we truly stand. I can't blame the kid if he stays in his back yard, but hopefully he does some soul searching & figures out UT is the place for him, just like bryce. CLK is trying to build an empire here, & I'm sure CLK told scroggins that he would be the foundation of that empire. If he's a true competitor, he will not be afraid of the challenge, & he could get the credit of being the QB that puts us back on top. I feel pretty confident he makes the best decision. He had to feel the passion here, hopefully he's UT bound.JMO

I don't think Kevin has a clue what's going on with Scroggins. He's way off base with this one. He keeps saying that he will not come to UT, but I've also seen him state NUMEROUS times that he will NOT go to USC. So what's that leave? Florida? No way. Not after this weekend. It should also be noted that Kevin has NEVER said where he thinks Scroggins will go, but he has eliminated the 2 frontrunners even though he will be commiting next week lol...

What in the heck is going on here? I think all the nega vols showed up this weekend. I read the govolsxtra article this morning and had a pretty good feeling about this kid. Especially since he goes out of his way to say that USC has started recruiting very late in the process. As I remember that is what kept us from landing an elite qb last year. I know people on here will say, "but it is USC" and they have all these quarterbacks in the league. They also have a roster full of highly rated qb's, and we run the same offensive scheme. Peyton Manning trumps every qb USC has in the league. Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson emulated Manning and Harrison's practice routine just to try and be as good. In my opinion emulation is the highest form of flattery. I will go out on a limb and say our coaching staff trumps the advantage USC has for being "USC". I won't go out and say this kid will commit here just because I am not an expert. I just don't know why everyone is getting worked up when a guy from another message board, who misses as often as he hits, says he is not coming here. I think the majority of people who claim to be in the know on these websites are full of sh** personally. Chill out, we will know in a week or two. I would worry if Rex had said he was not coming, but I have not read that to this point.

everyone thinks KS is the second coming of Hubbs....hardly. I have to give the guy credit though, he's trying to make a name for himself and it seems to be working.

As far as QB's in the NFL are concerned, Kiffin can boast just about every guy USC can because they played under him. So to me, that is a wash. Playing time, SEC, and being close to family give Tennessee the edge IMO.

Just so I don't have to go through all these pages...are we expecting a decision from him this week?

I think we should hear something in the next week or two after he finishes his camp at USC or where he plans to attend school. IMO, it will probably be this weekend.

As for him having family in TN, Im pretty sure he has family in Cali too so I wouldnt really count that as being something in our favor.:thumbsup:

We got this. There is TOOOO much chatter on the intarwebs, radio and various media outlets on Jesse and the Vols. The same chatter is not found regarding other schools like UF and USC.

We got this. Jesse will be a Vol; my prediction. All that remains, is for him to pick out what color he wants for his H2.

I have a quick question. I know that the media portrays Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin as having a good relationship, but does anybody think that Carroll could use that relationship to his advantage? If he really wanted Jesse, he could pretty much make Lane look like a fool and tell Jesse that he needs to come play for the best at USC. I really haven't followed Carroll in recruiting, but he really could use negative recruiting tactics to his advantage and have an extreme upper hand over Kiffin.

Just a not on Kevin Scotts opinion. He does not believe that we will get Jesse even if he verbally commits. He also states that he has zero personal contact with JS. His opinion is based on info and news he has heard through the grapevine and the fact that JS recruitment has really picked up a lot of steam. This info comes from his statements on TOS message board

FYP... We have heard the same info that he has. He wouldn't even answer my question about USC. He said some crap like " i've said all along he will not go to USC, but while I've been saying it, my opinion on USC has been changing." What? I'm not sure I follow...

Or he could point recruits away from UCLA towards Rockytop if he knows he can't play them or they are afraid of the depth chart at USC. USC will get theirs without going against Tennessee IMO. I hope he wouldn't negative recruit Tennessee especially with the respect he has for Monte.

I may be wrong but I was under the assumption that he was attending the rising stars camp which is the 24th and 25th. I think the camp that starts on the 22nd is for third through eighth graders.
