just put out the offer and then stay on them talk it up and we will get who we need in here and they will be coached to the best the staff can coach we will win we will lose some and that is the way it goes a lot of the pieces will have to fall the right way for a champioship team to come forth...as for the season comming up hey Crompton was talked up a lot before he signed and almost beat LSU that year I say give the guy a chance and concentarte on him and the current bunch we have

There will be a lot of selling when he's here for camp in June.

but i believe crompton has a hard time concentarting himself

Maybe you should inform the UT staff, because according to the coaches at Blinn, UT has not showed any interest in him. If you walked up to Lane Kiffin and said, " please coach, get Camron Newton cuz he is a 6'5 beast with a rocket arm. Robert Marve has no where near the potential that Newton has. ", CLK would laugh in your face...

Whether you wanna be believe or not, there is a reason the UT staff wants Robert Marve and has not shown any interest in Newton...

But but but Newton's fast! :)

Man he really wanted the USC offer which is scary. I doubt he goes there because they have fourty qbs on their roster but the scary thing is Pete Carrol is recruiting him. Who is the main guy recruiting him. Is it chaney of Reaves?

“Everything is going great with recruiting,” he said. “I think I have 14 offers total, from Arizona, Arizona State, California, LSU, Washington, Washington State, Nebraska, Tennessee, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, SMU, and Utah. Florida, USC, and Pittsburgh are also recruiting me but they haven’t offered yet. I don’t have a list, but I’d say I’m hearing the most from Tennessee, Nebraska, and Washington.”

This came from a Scout story just put up a few minutes ago. He clearly states that NEITHER Florida or USC have offered him yet. The guy who said that on VQ was wrong. I didn't think USC would offer him without him winning that camp thing. It would make them look like liars...

These offers are being reported on Tharinger.

I love how he puts us at the top of his list for hearing him the most. Even if he was just stating those three it cannot be a bad thing he is thinking about us first. haha.

It would make them look like liars...

or like he was a can't miss prospect, which would validate the execution of an amendment to a previous plan?

ThaRinger is a mixed bag with information, as far as I'm concerned, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Scroggins offered by USC prior to the camp. it's their program, they can do as they please.

Here you go. Per ESPN today.

Quote:
On Thursday, Scroggins talked with Florida coach Urban Meyer and the Gators have offered as well.

"I'm hyped on Florida for sure," Scroggins said. "They win national championships there and coach Meyer does a great job with the quarterback position. They said they're changing the offense after Tebow graduates to a more drop back style offense and they brought in Scott Loeffler to be the OC there and that's the kind of offense he has always run so I know it will be a good fit for me.

"My coach and I plan to take an unofficial visit out there in the summer and we're just working out the dates. I've only been to Washington so far and liked it there a lot but I want to check out a few more schools in the summer because I plan to try and make a commitment before the school year starts up."

Offers pouring in for QB Scroggins

Thursday, May 21, 2009 | Print Entry

Posted by Greg Biggins

It has been an exciting couple of days for Lakewood (Calif.) quarterback Jesse Scroggins. On Tuesday, the signal caller picked up a scholarship offer from his top local school and then the national champs came calling on Thursday.

Scroggins has tremendous physical tools and a very big upside. His film is as good as we've seen and according to Lakewood coach Thad MacNeal, every school that has come by the campus has offered.

"Notre Dame just spent three hours here earlier in the week and USC was here on Tuesday," MacNeal said. "Name a school and they have been by and everyone has said the same thing, they feel he's the best they have seen.

"His film is great and every coach calls me ahead of time and says, 'If he's as good in person as he is on film, we're offering.' Then after watching him throw at the school, they'll tell me he's even better in person than on film. USC was going to wait until the Rising Stars Camp before they offered but after watching him, they said they had seen enough and have offered."

I've only been to Washington so far and liked it there a lot but I want to check out a few more schools in the summer because I plan to try and make a commitment before the school year starts up."

Scroggins was equally excited by the offer from USC.

"I've always liked USC, it's a great school," Scroggins said. "They're high on my list and it's cool to have the local school as an option. I know some players might be afraid to go there because they signed Matt Barkley last year but that's not me at all. I'm all about competing and may the best guy win the job."

According to coach MacNeal, two other schools very high on the list for Scroggins are Tennessee and LSU and both could get unofficial visits. Cal is up there as well along with the Huskies, who Scroggins has already visited.

Who said anything about giving up? Don't be so defensive.

This is just an article which is relevant to this thread. USC is a much bigger threat than UF is. It's 2,500 miles closer to home for Scroggins.

Scroggins wouldn't fit the Florida spread. I see this as just UM trying to be a thorn in our side. He knows Scroggins is our #1 target now and he is simply offering for S&Gs.

Why wouldn't he fit? He can chuck it and he can run with it.

Who would be better?

Brantley for the next 3 years...:fool:

Only two year overlap with Brantley. Some schools and kids are willing to wait 2 years before getting a shot at the starting role. In fact, that's more the standard situation.

Also, what if Brantley is hurt? Important to have a good bench.
