Some sources say Tennessee is No. 2 for Heaps, and the Vols have a good shot at landing Lakewood (Calif.) High's Jesse Scroggins. But there is competition from LSU and Washington. Despite numerous West Coast offers, Scroggins has family ties in Tennessee, as his mother's side of the family lives in Nashville. But he was excited about his recent offer from LSU, while Washington also has offered teammates Kevin Anderson, Justin Utupo and Dion Bailey.

I honestly hope we get this guy. He looks like he's got the mobility that we need. More so than Heaps. Not that we need a scrambling type guy, but he has the ABILITY to do it and do it well, and he's a pass first guy. Ever since I looked at Scroggins, he was my pick. I'd rather have him and Brent Nottingham or Zach Lee maybe. I do think we need to get two though. Sadly, I don't see us getting both Heaps and Scroggins. I believe in our staff....but that one might be JUST above what they can do.

Out of the two I want Newton, but if we dont get him i wont lose sleep. I just dont think marve will have as big an impact here as many ppl think he will.

I think starting over Heaps/Scroggins/Hendrix (whoever we get) is as big as an impact as many think. He will start when he is eligible over who else we have on the roster and that's a big enough impact. I would like Newton more if he was actually a pretty good passer - he's OK but he also won't have the extra year Marve will have.

That extra year is playing a big role IMO. Hubbs has been saying that UT will not offer Newton until they scout him this year when he plays. You can read alot into that and make it out to what you want it to be.....just food for thought.

Maybe you should inform the UT staff, because according to the coaches at Blinn, UT has not showed any interest in him. If you walked up to Lane Kiffin and said, " please coach, get Camron Newton cuz he is a 6'5 beast with a rocket arm. Robert Marve has no where near the potential that Newton has. ", CLK would laugh in your face...

Whether you wanna be believe or not, there is a reason the UT staff wants Robert Marve and has not shown any interest in Newton...

just put out the offer and then stay on them talk it up and we will get who we need in here and they will be coached to the best the staff can coach we will win we will lose some and that is the way it goes a lot of the pieces will have to fall the right way for a champioship team to come forth...as for the season comming up hey Crompton was talked up a lot before he signed and almost beat LSU that year I say give the guy a chance and concentarte on him and the current bunch we have
