I get a better feeling about this guy every day. I don't know why, but like....I just do. I just think that Kiffin and staff have got this plan, and its' working. I mean, i know that players commit together, Jake Heaps committed to BYU with like two other players....and if anyone could have gotten spotlight, it would have been Heaps. If Jesse and Dion were BOTH going to USC....I don't see why both of them either would have 1) Committed yesterday at the same time, or 2) wait until BOTH of them could get on ESPN and do it at the same time there. Like, if I'm Dion, and I'm committing to USC, and Jesse is committing to USC....and I have a chance to get on ESPN with Jesse....I'm going to do it.

But they didn't. Which makes me wonder. A lot. Jesse and Dion would NOT go on National TV and be like "Well, I'm committing to USC....and I am committing to the University of Tennessee." You just don't do that. And since the spotlight on ESPN was intended for Jesse....I'm really starting to believe that he is going somewhere other than SC. Now, I could be wrong, and understand there is a VERY big chance that I am. But I just don't see the logic. If he was sold on USC, he would have committed yesterday with Dion, or Dion would wait to commit with him. Just how I see it.

I think we might have another Bryce Brown type surprise coming...just with a little more preparation. We're actually somewhat thinking this could happen.

dion couldnt have waited and gotten on ESPN, because that is going to be at a QB camp, and he wont be there, if i understand the situation correctly.

and i dont know about other people, but i wasnt surprised by BB. i was expecting it. he took a visit here, and there were sources saying that he was expected to commit to us. scroggins wont be taking that all-important second visit, and every trusted source says he will be going to USC.

The QB recruiting sure worked out well for you didn't it? Relying on J. Crompton to step up isn't exactly a good thing.

Hard to take anything serious from someone who's team mascot is a CHICKEN!!!

The funny thing about gamecocks=beasts is that his/her avatar makes USCe look bad. How many Gamecocks does it take to tackle a Vol?

IMO it doesn't make any sense because Kiffin would want him to go ahead and commit to help out with recruiting.

i know it woukld be better if he announced early but i bet you anything kiffin is not rushing the kid at all with his decision. kiffin knows how to recruit and rushing a kid to a decision isnt gonna help and he knows that. he will wait as long as scroggins needs

Dion Bailey, the 5'11", 195 pound (4.5 forty) safety from Lakewood High in Lakewood, CA, gave USC his verbal commitment at the Nike seven on seven tournament in Beaverton, Oregon.

With the signing of Bailey, this gives the Trojans 10 verbal commitments, including five ESPN 150 watch-list residents.

Dion Bailey, who also held scholarship offers from Oklahoma and Notre Dame amongst many others, is thought to be one of the finest defensive backs in the Southland.

Described as "a real athlete that can go vertical to make the interception and has receiver soft hands to come down with the ball," Bailey has tremendous upside.

In 2008, Bailey had 72 tackles and nine interceptions.

Look for Dion Bailey to be rated among the best defensive backs in the nation by the end of the year.

In an interesting side bar, Lakewood High School also happens to be the team that Jesse Scroggins, the fast-rising, multi-skilled quarterback plays for.

Scroggins, who also holds offers from USC, Florida, Tennessee and just about every other big-time program in the nation, is possibly the fastest rising quarterback in the country and also is a ESPN 150 watchlist player.

He has said that USC, Florida, and Tennessee are his leaders and that he has no problems with coming in and competing against 2009 mega-recruit Matt Barkley.

Scroggins also suggested that a red-shirt year wouldn't dissuade him in any way from possibly signing with the Trojans.

I have a hard time believing that Jesse Scroggins will sign with the Trojans with Matt Barkley waiting in the Trojans wing, but you never know.

Many Southland players dream of playing for Pete Carroll and the chance to win a title in their hometown.

For certain, Scroggins has the talent to be a superior quarterback at the next level and who ever gets this guy will have a solid foundation to build upon.

In any event, Scroggins decision will be coming soon, perhaps in the next couple of weeks.

Bailey first, Scroggins next?

Stay tuned.

Simple google stuff.

I for one am up. Bailey and Scroggins did not commit together which I view as a positive. JS is not an end of the world if we don't get him, BUT I believe his not announcing with Bailey indicates that LK has him thinking and maybe leaning orange.

Our staff has more time and I still believe that he will be all Vol.

I think it's a good thing they didn't announce together. I feel if they were going to the same school, JS would have announced with DB. Why wait another week or two to commit to the same school when you could have dne it at the 7on7? I think he's a Vol, and haven't given up. This reassured me some. Can't wait.
